In the off chance we decide to take a day to do something other than the sexy pool is there anything we must do besides the Boobs Cruise and Isla Mujeres? Wife talked about a waterfall/cave excursion that might be fun, just wondering if anyone had any must dos besides the resort and the ones mentioned above. I have been thinking about that also. Maybe a mid-week break for this guy. I saw a couple that looked fun. An ATV tour another with rappelling and zip lining. I think I will make a spur of the moment decision.
We will probably go to something like the "Xplor" adventure. Seems legit. She mentioned swimming with sea turtles, but I don't know whats gonna happen yet. Def want to walk the beach some and see what's good
Google Xcaret or Xel-ha. I think the resort also offers all sorts of day trips...Chiceh Itza and the cenotes nearby are pretty nice.
I was wanting to do this something off site also but hate making plans, so we will probable end up at the sexy pool or nakie volleyball everyday.
Have you been to Mexico before? There are a lot of common touristy things that all sort of blend together no matter where they are. Cancun, Cozumel, Tulum, Cabo. In our Pre-TTR days we did something every day on vacation. Bar Crawls, Snorkeling, Fishing, Ruins, Parks, Shopping etc. There are lots of cool off the beaten path things in Mexico. A lot though are more than an hour by car from Cancun. Since TTR, we have only left resort for Boobs Cruise. Not saying their isn't a ton of really cool stuff to do and see in Mexico, but I feel like I would be missing out on time spent with the cool peeps at the hotel. The Mrs doesn't like to put on the boob prisons once we get to Cancun these days, and they sort of frown on that sort of thing on the zip line, atv, ruins and snorkeling tours, so we pretty much stay where the topless thing is welcome, practiced and appreciated. If you want to snorkel with sea turtles, Akumal is a cool public place to do it, but its probably 2 hours south. All the ruins are going to be a 2 hour ride also. There is a huge Market in Cancun if you want to do some shopping, but I go berserk after about the 100th person tries to talk me into their booth with REAL silver and Cuban cigars. My Favorite souvenirs from Mexico are the photos from her photo shoot she had done at the resort in August. I would choose that over a box of 'Cuban' cigars. I have never been to Isla Mujeres , but that trip would be one that would tempt me to leave the hotel. Lots of posts on here about riding around the island on golf carts bar hopping.
Isla Mujeres is absolutely worth the trip at least once. Love the island with a couple of other couples.
Thanks for all ther suggestions. It is my, husband, first time to Mexico and wife hasn't been since High School field trip. I imagine we wont be wanting to do very much besides sexy pool and maybe one day trip to Isla Mujeres. Sound slike plenty of fun to take in at the resort, plus cant beat the drink prices.
There is a good thread in here for offsite excursions. I don't like to go far and I don't like the ruins so my favorites are X-Caret, Jungle Tour, Isla of course, couple hours at a fancy restaurant, Playa del Carmen.
This year we are doing a private excursion to Tulum booked through this site. I am really looking forward to it! We can't do the Boobs Cruise because I get really sea sick. :-(
