(sorry, I couldn't think of anything else more clever)

Ontop of wishing everyone a exciting and safe Spring Break, I would like you to keep in mind a couple simple common sense tidbits...

Make sure to tip all the appropriate staff. Salaries here are shit and these ppl preparing your drinks and cleaning your puke need to be appreciated in a monetary form

Don't be an ass to the bus drivers. As much as these guys drive me crazy, they don't speak English (maybe 10%) and they only stop at marked bus stops. Don't call them every nasty name you can think of cause he isn't letting you off right infront of where you want. Downtown is the only place this happens.

Littering and peeing in public is NOT tolerated. I talked to a group of guys yesterday that each paid the police $45 not to be taken to jail. I for one love the Hotel Zone as does all the locals. Lots of $$ is pumped into it to keep it looking spotless. Don't be a dope and spoil it for everyone. And that's alot of dinero to be forking over.

Gotcha. That's all fairly standard "etiquette". I'll make a note though to be tolerant of the bus drivers :)

You'd think they'd be standard for everyone. But there is a reason I am pointing them out. I am tired of getting nasty with my fellow countrymen/women over these three things, especially the bus. It's so embarrassing, and the locals then think we are all like those morons.

It's a traffic hazard. Traffic is moving at a pretty high speed and there are only cut outs at the bus stops. It is what it is, so yes, please keep your emotions in check. The stops are pretty frequent, so there is absolutely no need to loose your cool. I know the buses where I come from don't just stop anywhere; so why should they here?!

Geeze...if you want door to door service, you pay more and take a taxi. Who (from North America, anyway) would expect a bus in Mexico to offer personalized service for 8 pesos?

Stupid people are still stupid when on vacation :D

    lol, too true ...

speaking from personal experience don't throw up in the street either, you'll get shaken down by the cops if they see you!
