Can anyone that has gone to GoP within the last month+ and was not too drunk to remember the days of the week...:icon_biggrin: Help us folks that are going within the next couple of months by mapping Night Clubs visited by the entertainment staff to the Day of the week... much obliged in advance!!!
From what I have heard, the entertainment staff kind of wings it from day to day based on the requests from guests, so it could really change from week to week.
It seems to be pretty set(or at least it was the week I was there). I know i went to Mandala on the 24th of March which was a Thursday. The next night was Bull Dogs, then CoCo Bongo, Basic, and Bulldogs.... i must not have been at the pool when they talked about going to the city or sr frogs! lol
Thanks a ton for showing the above and CONGRATS are your upcoming move (I read the earler post :aetsch004 So I read this as: Thursday : Mandala (must be a 'new' place) Friday : Bull Dogs Sat: CoCo Bongo Sun: Basic We were leaning to wanting to go to 'The City' as even though 5 times in Cancun never went (3 of 5 times with kids, so part of the reasoning)... Obviously we would PREFER to just party and dance at the Tiki Hut... on a 2ndary note - I took a portable Bose ipod player w/ me to Temptations last year (had music on at the quiet pool bar - NOT super loud - but NON-thump thump thump/house music - e.g. 70s/80s music) Is this aloud at night at the Tiki Hut as we have never been to GP? or do they have music feeds already there?
hahh honestly other than Sweet and Mandala.... I haven't been to a club in Cancun since 2004. LOL. I know I went to La Boom(R.I.P.), Basic, and Sr Frogs.... and I also went to either CoCo Bongo or The City. I honestly can't remember which!! LOL. I think it may have been The City. Either way you can't go wrong with either "TC" or "CB". They both have amazing show reputations. What do I do? I party my butt of at Terrasta and Slices. They are free, open air bars, people come and go so it isn't always the same crowd, It's not 5 million degrees, and they play great music! Personally I'm slightly saddened that I've yet to find a club OR a bar in the Hotel Zone that plays Spanish music. I'd love to get my Bachata, Kumbia, Reggaeton, Salsa, Meringue, or whatever else on! Maybe my man will take me downtown to Mambo Cafe when I go in a few days! As far as the Tiki Bar.... No need to pack the extra weight.... When they arrive at the bar at 10am or 11am... whatever time it is, they bring their own boom box that has an iPod port. You can connect and blast your tunes! I actually made a Cancun 2011 playlist for it.... but our trip was SO short this year that we just didn't have much time to spend at the Tiki Bar
LaBoom - I do remember the days.... I remember Christine's back in the early 90s by Flamingo/Hyatt (what a hoot.. they would NOT let you in if you were a male unless you went in with female(s)) SO we got creative and went in with a bunch of girls from Guadalaraja and at the time 'we' spoke ZERO Spanish and them very little English... body language is all that was required!!! Thanks for the info on the music at the Tiki..... helps us know the ropes
