I am in need of an English speaking doctor in the hotel zone. I have called every farmacia listed in the hotel zone, every hotel that lists having an onsite doctor, and a few hospitals asking for a contact for an English speaking doctor. No one has been able to help. A few have given me phone numbers, but none of the numbers work. I've searched the internet and the only numbers I have been able to find are more than three years old and are nonworking numbers. There is very little information on these boards for doctors, which is surprising to me. I would prefer not to go to a hospital or into downtown. I am in the hotelzone and would prefer to take the bus to a doctor. Please, if anyone has a good doctor that they know in the hotel zone who speaks English and is not going to rip me off, please let me know the details. Thank you.

I hope you were able to find a Doctor in the hotel zone, if not you may want to post this on the Living in Cancun forum.
I went to a hospital called Galenia, really clean and new and free parking lot(that was a surprise for me since where I'm from everything is paid). They have English speaking staff. Is at the Avenida Tulum. Try to find their phone number, they can recommend you a doctor. Hope you found help! Cheers!
I found the Dr's info... I posted it on here a few months ago... http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/liv...216-100-english-speaking-doctor-cancun-2.html
Update - No doctor found I never found a doctor in the hotel zone. I was so desperate that I took the bus to Walmart for over the counter medication. While I was there, a few people heard me coughing and said that I should go to Gallenia hospital. They said that I could see a doctor for less than $10 US. I took a taxi to the hospital and the receptionist spoke great English. She said that it would cost about $7 or $8 US. I filled out the form and then she went to talk to someone else. She came back and said it would be $70 US!!! I turned to walk out and she said, "Wait! How much money do you have?" I looked at her like she was crazy and continued to walk out. She continued to scream, "Wait! Don't go! How much money do you have?" I never turned around again. The first taxi that pulled up, I asked if he would take me back to Walmart so I could catch the bus. I knew it should cost 25 pesos, and I asked him if he would take me there for that much. He said, "Of course." I got in and he sped away and looked back and said, "50 pesos to Walmart." I asked him to stop - he just looked at me in his rearview mirror. I screamed at him to stop - he drove faster. I continued to yell for him to stop - he drove for about 2 minutes before getting stuck behind a bus. I jumped out and he sped away. The entire day was miserable. I still haven't found a doctor, but I have since found a wonderful taxi driver who does not rip me off. I still avoid going downtown as much as possible. What a terrible adventure.
Let me see what is wrong with this picture: You have been looking for a doctor since July 26th. Then you write about your adventures downtown. Somehow I just don't buy your downtown adventures.
I've been to Galenia more times than I care to count. You are never going to find a Doctor there who charges $7 or $8 USD. A basic walk in is going to cost 700 pesos plus whatever meds they prescribe or equipment they use or tests they do (blood analysis, xrays, bandages, syringes etc). A regular appointment with a Dr there will be around 500 pesos. The advice Dikfore posted above was good, and he even went to the trouble to research contact details for you - but again it's going to be a lot more than $8 USD to see any Dr in Cancun.
Thank you, Steve. I was told by a few people in Walmart that in order to get a prescription for antibiotics it would just be a few dollars to see a doctor to write the script. Obviously, this was not correct information. Gabesz, I don't know why you feel I am lying. I went to Gallenia the same day that I posted looking for a doctor. I never tried to find a doctor since then. I have been using over the counter medication instead. The took a picture of the taxi when he drove off and reported him. There were several people at the bus stop who saw what happened and gave me the information I needed to report him.
