hello me and a few mates are looking to go to cancun round about end of may time wot is it like this time of year? could any one recomend were to stay were it will be party atmosphere? i have heard the oasis is ment to be good but the reviews i read are terrible would you reccomend it? wots the food like etc? we can book 2 week for £ 800 also wich is better the oasis or grand oasis, thanks alot if any one can help. can any one reccomend anyother hotels thanks?
If there is no swine flu next may it would be a decent time to come, but best time to come would be during spring break. Oasis does get bad reviews, but usually by those that compare it to much more expensive resorts. I personally have stayed there (well Grand Oasis) and have had a wonderful time. The food is good, not the best in the world, but good. It is AI so if you order something you don't like, DON'T EAT IT! You can order something else, or just go else where to eat. Now if you compare the food served at Oasis to the one served at Le Blanc, then yes Oasis food is horrible!!!!! Oasis vs Grand Oasis.... fork out the extra bucks per night, and do Grand Oasis. Oasis offers lower end alcohol, the mystery plastic bottle stuff. That stuff gives nasty hangovers. With Grand Oasis you get access to a couple of VIP bars and I think one or two restaurants. The bars don't offer top shelf by any means, but at least serve name brand stuff like smirnoffs, bacardi, appleton, jimador, etc. One last note, if you do decide to go to the Grand Oasis, when you order your drinks at a VIP bar, ask it by name of drink and brand, aka "margarita with jimador" (or the tequila of your choice), otherwise they will also serve you mystery plastic bottle stuff at the VIP bar.
