Hello everyone, My GF and I are planning our first trip to Temptations this spring. We would like to know if this resort has issues with employee theft or scams. I have read a few reviews online which state this resort had issues with scams where upon checkout the employees would replace your TV with a broken one and charge you for damage. I have also read that employees have deliberately disabled the in-room safe for the first day so you would be forced to keep your money outside of the safe, and then the employees would promptly access your room and remove your money. I am very security-conscious and I am very concerned about these types of thefts and scams. Please chime in with any experiences you had. Thank you in advance!
I've been there 5 times and never had an issue ... i even kept my laptop out and purse with no worries
never had a proplem at all both times i was thier and never heard of anyone haveing issues like that. deff sounds like reviews from trip advisor and such written by ppl who never went thier and have a stick up thier ass. your better of just reading about the resort here on the forum.
There are hundreds of multiple repeaters here, so if it were true we would know. Totally bogas allegations. At most i have heard of unattended cameras disappearing at the pool, but a lot of claims are influenced by all day drinking I have heard of people going back to there room with a note on the safe to go the the front desk, because the maid closed it cause it was left open.
Can't be TTR!!! the worst thing that happened to us in this regard was a note from housekeeping to please keep valuables in the safe... I've been known to leave my jewelry lying around. Any money that we left in the room, if we didn't leave it on our pillow it wasn't touched. We have the greatest respect for all the staff at TTR.
We have been to TTR 12 times and have never had or heard of anything like this. You really have to balance your scales when reading trip reports. The most compelling evidence is that the majorrity of the staff have worked at TTR for many years and are like family. There is very little employee turnover and yet there are thousands of jobs in the hotel zone. Temptation staff wouldn't tolerate thieves in their midst. Neither would management. But now that you are registered on this site and if you visit and explore the threads on here you will see the true genuine experiences ppl enjoy at 'our mecca.' As far as the staff go they are probably (collectively), the best group in all of Cancun. They work there tails off and are always smiling. They luv to see YOU having a great vacation and will go above and beyond for you. All they ask in return is respect and a smile. If you vacation here, have a great time, let loose, free your mind and enjoy. But be polite and respectful and you will not have issues with the staff.
the only issue I had when we were there was the safe not in working order. We locked it with our stuff in it then forgot something, opened it and tried to close it and it would not stay locked. We called maint. and within 5 miinutes we had a tech come to our room and they had it fixed and we were on our way. We left all of our passports and what have you in the safe but left everything from expensive cameras and equipment to jewelery, cash and my wallet (having all my credit cards in it) out in the open. House keeping did move them to be able to clean but nothing EVER went missing and they actually put all the items together in like categories. Don't fear this stuff. It's just BS or the VERY seldom occasion to a centain employee at the time.... but mostly I think it is just BS!
