I'm interested in going to El Pescador for lunch but noticed that they offer a buffet. I don't like buffets and have a few questions:

    (1) Does anyone know if you can still order off the menu at lunch?
    (2) Do you think I should just go to La Habichuela instead?

We're looking to eat simple seafood (grilled, yummy, nothing fancy). I've eat at El Cejas before and wanted to try something different this time. Any suggestions or responses are appreciated.

    Thank you!

p.s. Is the walk to El Pescador far from Chedraui (the one near the first stop off the R-2)? TIA!

Pescador's is my favorite seafood spot and I am sure they will serve you off the menu even if they are serving a buffet, but not postive. They are definitely there to serve the customer. Its about 6 blocks from Chedraiu. If you stay on the R-1 and go to the Govenment Center on Tulum it is right across the street and there is a pedestrian crossing there as well. We always have to eat there a few times when we are in Cancun.

Not sure for certain but like Gonzo, I believe it would be no problem to order from the menu. I love the "Grouper ala Vera Cruzano".

You want to get off at the 2nd stop on Tulum, aka Palacio Municipal. It is a brightly decorated building sitting back off the street with like an open plaza area in front. Cross the street at the crosswalk, 3 streets actually as there is the main street and two service streets. You have the right of way but that does not mean you don't have to be careful.

When you cross Tulum walk down the pedestrian street beside Burger King and El Pescador will be on the same side of the street. It is called Tulipanes.

    MM,

I got your PM after I had replied here to your post. Now I know that you have a route in mind that does not include getting off the R-1 in front of the Government Center, also known as Palacio Municipal.
