So, we've been reading the (probably overhyped) stories about the "Godzilla" El Nino that could hit later this year. Does anybody know what kind of effect these things have in the Cancun area? I did some basic Googling, and found conflicting information. A couple things I read made it out like an El Nino can actually bring drier-than-normal weather to the Yucatan Peninsula during hurricane season (which is when we'll be visiting). Others said it would have the same effect as anywhere else - lots of rain. (And before you say it - we will of course make the best of it if does rain.)
always heard it kept the bad weather down in the Carribean, but who knows anymore. They sensationalize everything
