We'd like to make a trip to Wal-Mart for supplies once we get to TTR. Don't want to stop on the way in from the airport. What's the easiest/cheapest/safest way to do this?
First time TR 4 days in I saved this bit of info for our trip. Not sure if a game of frogger ranks lower on your best way scale
Someone else might be able to offer advice on the best times but when we took a trip we found out 7ish is their rush hours. A 10 min trip turned into over a half hour so ask about the traffic patterns. Maybe the concierge could help with that why was time in traffic. Some friend of ours went to Walmart they said it was no problem and the had fun adventure. But be ready they said the driving is like being in a video game.
If you are already taking USA Transfer from the airport, the easiest (despite the rush to get to the resort) would be to make a pitstop at Wal-Mart to get your shopping out of the way so that once you arrive at the resort you never have to think about leaving again. I did play the frogger game to cross the street one morning. Even with a crosswalk and a light that was the most dangerous intersection I've experienced. I swear the bus swerved and accelerated in an attempt to hit me.
There have been a lot of changes to the one way system in downtown Cancun recently. It will be a little more tricky to find Walmart by bus now, although not overly so.
