We employ someone with family in Mexico City and Acapulco. Thankfully he reported nobody hurt in this natural disaster.
That's wonderful.....I would have hated to open the thread only to find out the message hit hard to one of our members... Michelle
Ironically, our employee was almost victimized by those tornadic winds that hit my area a few weeks ago (and since then nightly wind gusts reaching over 30 mph are still a nuisance!) I told him that at least when an earthquake hits in Mexico there is little question what it is. Here in the Metroplex when the wind starts picking up in the middle of the night (like that one night), I'm torn between just keeping my eyes shut for Mr. Sandman or jumping up and checking my local stations for a tornado watch. And that's from 11 pm - 2 am most nights now. Am soooooooo tired.
Tis the season for it..... I'm jus glad we normally don't get more than strong winds to hit the city here. The only tornado's that have actually touched down were out in the burbs where the land is all open and mostly farm land. Last weekend I was at a seminar in Springfield, IL at the Hilton and at night the wind was sooooo strong that the entire building creaked all day and all night long... I had to turn up the TV volume an blast it just to tune out the noise. When I woke up the next morning, I found out that pretty much everyone in the hotel did the same thing. Michelle
