Can someone tell me if there is a duty free shop at the airport upon arrival and where is it. Been thee 3 times and cannot remember ever seeing one. Thanks
Yes there is duty free in Cancun. Its actually pretty hard to miss... Look for the gigantic walls of alcohol.
Terminal 3 has a Duty Free shop in the arrivals area of the airport. I don't recall ever seeing one in terminal to but I never have looked. USTWO, you cannot get to Duty Free Departure area upon arriving. It as after Security in both terminals. Donald, I don't see USA Transfers making a Walmart stop in the normal course of taking you to the hotel. Maybe at an extra cost, by prior arrangement. I am very long time friends with the owner and most of the office staff and have never heard of such a thing. I am going to ask though. I ASKED AND GOT AN ANSWER. PLEASE SEE MY POST BELOW. Max/Doug. I am not sure why anyone would want to buy at the duty free shop upon arrival. The prices are terrible. Unless you have an urgent need for alcohol upon arrival I would suggest shopping at La Europea at around km 12 or going down town to Walmart if you were looking for bargains. There is also a Ka Europea across street from Walmart. It is my go to store.

Last April when I booked USA Transfer there was a $20 option for a Wall mart stop.
I know in Jamaica they have electronic shops with camera lens for pretty cheap. Does Cancun have cheap camera stuff shops. I am looking for a telephoto lens for my Rebel.
USA Transfers will stop at Superama, owned by Walmart, for Cancun area transfers. $30 US DOLLARS Per hour or fraction thereof. For transfers to the Playa Del Carmen area and south, they will stop at the store of your choice in PDC (Walmart, Mega, Soriana, Chedraui) for the same price, $30 per hour or fraction thereof. The clock is pretty much running from the time you get to the store until the time you leave. I got this info today from friends at USA Transfers.
