I have been researching online how to make drunky gummy bears. A couple of questions that I have not seen addressed and I have not tackled making them yet. 1) Are the gummy bears wet and sticky? 2) What is your favorite combinations? 3) What is your favorite recipe? 4) How far in advance do you make yours? 5) Some recipe's say to add a cup a juice the day before you take them out of the vodka. 6) Has anyone use malibu rum? Is that good/bad? Thanks ~Jill~
I know that mommabear was the "professional" drunk bear maker in may, but I can't find the post to link up. From what I have gathered the bears don't really get too sticky and mushy. She was able to take hers on the plane. I recall her using peach schnapps in hers. I wish I could be more help. I am planning on trying these myself over the weekend. Lol Made those for the Hedo 2011 trip. 1. Yes.. They are wet, slimey, and sticky 2. Just made them with regular vodka, so we didn't do combos.. 3. See answer #2 4. We did three days ahead. The bears got about two inches big.. 5. Didn't add juice. What kind would one add??? And aren't the gummi's sweet enough?? 6. Malibu sounds yummy All in all they were a fun idea, but unless they are in individual cups or everyone gets their own spoon I don't think they will get made again by me. They were messy, too sloppy to pick up easily and no one wanted seconds.lol. Which says something about a shot at a resort like Temptation or Hedo.. Now jello shots are still a must.. But I wanna try pudding shots next, and skittles vodka.. Always looking for the next fun shot.
We recently made a batch using Pinnacle Whipped Vodka...quite tasty, but to each their own. They were ready to eat in a couple of days I think and they stayed "moist" in the fridge for at least a week or so as we only snacked on a few at a time...it's not clear how many gummy bears one would have to eat to get a buzz...but they are fun!

So Hedo 2009 we got suck n' blows.. Lol. I was laughing so hard. The jello was difficult to get out.. So you can imagine one person blowing as hard as they can, the other is sucking in as hard as they can.. Guess what happens next...... I know you can see it now. Jello shoots out with the velocity of a bullet in a gun right to the back of the throat which in turn causes a gag reflex. Lmao. Needs a lil pam.. Or something to keep it from sticking to the side. Still makes me laugh. I have pics somewhere I will dig up. The jello shots in fruit and stuff are awesome. The injectors rock toooo.
We did jello shots in fruit for my last birthday. They were tasty and a big hit. We are currently experimenting with drunk gummies, one with vodka and one with peach schnaps. The preliminary results indicate peach schnaps is the way to go. Tom
Mommabear is a pro at both the gummy bears and suck and blows. Making a bunch for our CCC reunion at the Calgary Stampede in July. I made a bunch of bears with Vodka for last April and they weren't slimy or sticky. We ate them all in the last hour of our flight and had a good buzz going when we landed.
