We ordered Drops of Love to make my husband's birthday vacation very special. It was $787 additional for 5 nights, and the reason we wanted it was for the personal butler and room service for every meal. I cut and pasted directly from the resort website how they advertise this package, clearly showing in bold where they promise a personal butler and room service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. (they misspelled butler, not me - lol) We saw the weather was going to be bad, so we were grateful we had the butler and room service option because we could just hang in the room and have a romantic week if we couldn't go out. Our butler could get us drinks and bring us food - perfecto!! Well, don't waste your money on this package because it is NOT what they advertise. There is no system set up at all for room service outside of toast, fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Premier members have the option of 4 items from the Italian restaurant for dinner as room service, this is NOT available to drops of love. It took us 3 days of asking, and then begging, for a room service menu, or anything that would remotely describe how room service works (other than continuing to get the stupid breakfast menu delivered to our room). The manager refunded us 2 days of the package (about $325) and sent us a bottle of Smirnoff on ice as an apology for our inconvenience. All Drops of Love is would be a daily plate of chocolates/desserts delivered to the room, an aromatherapy bath one time, a 25 minute relaxing massage, guest services making dinner reservations, and a dinner in the room or on the beach that would cost an additional $40 from the seafood restaurant. Those things utterly do not justify an additional $150 per night for 5 nights - a personal butler (e.g personal servant at our beck and call) and room service for every meal would have! I told them they should edit their description to say "concierge" instead of butler, because that is all it is - they didn't understand and kept insisting it was a butler. I told them to look the word "butler" up in the dictionary. Even allowing for a misinterpretation of the word butler - they have NO excuse for advertising room service for every meal - that DOES NOT exist for anyone, even premier members, and they have no infrastructure in place to honor that promise. We paid with American Express Platinum and are going to look into having more of a refund given since it was deceptive and misleading advertising for a very expensive upgrade. I will post more about our funner moments of the trip, but I just wanted to give a word of warning for anyone interested in Drops of Love - don't bother! Just buy the massage you would actually want, bring bath oil and buy a few roses and candles for your bath, make your own reservations for dinner, order a lobster upgrade one night, and go to the buffet and get some desserts every day. Hey Sultryfox. So sorry you had a bad experience. I have read only negative comments on Tripadvisor.com regarding the Drops of Love package. Really too bad, as butler service is a great concept in theory for a romantic holiday. I know that you can get true butler service at other resorts, like Sandals. I was at a Beaches resort 2 years ago (the family arm of the Sandals resorts), and people were very pleased with their butler service. It IS very expensive though, and all around, the Sandals/Beaches resorts are pricier than TTR to begin with so you're looking at pretty big $$ to get a butler. Maybe splurge for your 25th anniversary? I hope Amex will help you out.
Thanks for posting this--I appreciate the details you gave about the package. I hope you still had a fun time and that your hubby was pleased with his birthday vacation! It's a totally different place, (VERY quiet, no nightlife on site) but it sounds like you might want to look into the Royal Hideaway in Playacar for a future trip--they have the kind of luxury and service the Drops of Love sounds like it would be.
Sorry about your bad experience, I have used this package and never noticed that line. Puts a damper on your vacation when you have an issue. To be fair the package includes a room upgrade to Jaccuzi room which in itself is valued at 56$ extra a night, but if you wanted to butler I guess I can see why you were upset I have had other issues at the resort and found the front line staff unable to resolve issues, best to speak to a manager , then again ..... I just wanted what they advertised, and the only things I saw in the description that remotely justified the cost was having a butler and room service for every meal - the other stuff isn't that much to buy separately, certainly not to the tune of $787 for 5 nights! They said butler when it really is a concierge service. They said room service for all meals and they have no way to honor that promise. That is total bullshit misleading advertising and I cannot believe that more people haven't called them on this!

and in the "CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT" there is a clause in regards to putting it onto ur credit card. Good luck and im sure it will all workout for you in regards of compensation
Our first trip we had the package, didn't use any of it so it didn't matter to us but we have not wasted the money on any of the next 6 trips.
