A couple drops of love package questions for those of you that have done it in the past. I know some people feel it is a waste but it just worked out well for us for our trip this April to ensure we end up with a jacuzzi room. Some of the best nights of our lives took place in that jacuzzi last trip so I am willing to pay for the drops of love up sale So the questions... Priority restaurant reservations. Do you have to wait until being on site to make them? I don't want to arrive and then they say yes you have priority but we are all booked for tonight. How do you make the reservations? I know we won't have to wait in the long 10am line but not sure how it is done. Offer claims room service available for bfast, lunch and dinner. Yet several times I read on here that is not the case. Not sure if drops and love results in room service being available or simply it doesn't exist. Has anyone successfully gotten room service using drops of love? If so, for bfast, lunch or dinner? Couples Massage. Is it the sensual massage that several have discussed on here where they perform a sensual massage and then join you and your partner together and then depart? I may be mixing up massage descriptions between what the resort offers and the one down the beach to the left others have raved about. Priority upgrade to a suite. Obviously a long shot given the occupancy concerns for April. If it becomes an option should we even take it? We loved having the jacuzzi outdoors on the patio with the regular jacuzzi room. Has anyone received a suite upgrade as a result of drops of love or is that another myth like room service Any other advice to ensure we make best use of the package? Thanks in advance!
Hey J&K We have never done Drops of Love but always get a jucuzzi. These answers are from talking to people in Feb 2013, week 8 if you ever care to join us again! HAHA! 1. No idea of Drops gets you priority dinner reservations. 2.Room service and a private buttler doesn't happen. Have talked to several people who paid for this service and it just doesn't exist. 3.Couples Massage have talked to some who have gotten way more than they expected and others who said they just used a feather. However the Sensual stories are getting more prevelant. We did it in Cabo and lets say it was super but there was really no actual massage at all. 4.Priority upgrade, we have been offered this upgrade several times just becuase they are running low on regular jacuzzi rooms. The rooms are larger but the jacuzzi is in the room with a sliding glass door to the outside. Some have balconies but the jacuzzi is still indoors. Like most things at TTR alot of things are based on occupancy and availibility. The right time and right place may get you some upgrades for free. Hope to see you in Feb 2014
We did the Drops of Love Package last year, and it was nice. Originally they were going to put us looking at the road so we upgraded on the spot. Right after you check in they send you over to the concierge person and you do the reservations for the restaraunts, set up your lobster dinner, massage and decide when you want them to do the jacuzzi treatment. We had chocolate deserts left in our room every day when housekeeping would come clean. It was a very nice experience and I would reccomend it to anyone at least once. The couples massage was weird, and I felt my time could have been spent better partying at the pool with my peeps. I am odd about people I do not know well touching me in general anyway so it wasn't my thing.
The only way it makes sense to do this package is if you book the cheaper room, then buy drops of love to upgrade the room. They will give you either a jacuzzi room or a Temptation suite, depending on what is available. The massage is not the sensual couples massage, it is just a regular massage, and it is 'just ok' - you can pay to upgrade to something else in the spa. The dinner is very nice. You can have it on the beach or on your patio in the room. We wanted to stay in the room - it was romantic and we had the best food of the entire stay. Wish they had what we were served at one of the restaurants! The aromatherapy jacuzzi bath is nice, we scheduled it the same afternoon as our dinner in the room, so the jacuzzi was all decorated for our dinner! The concierge makes all your dinner reservations, and that is what they call their butler - but this person does not do anything that anyone would think of when they imagine what a butler would do (like fetch drinks or food). There is NO ROOM SERVICE at TTR, other than pastries, fruit, and juice for breakfast. That is the egregious lie about drops of love. The have no infrastructure to provide you any other meals in the room, I have no fucking idea why they advertise that they can. The desserts and champagne in the room every day were nice. It is worth doing drops of love if you book at the cheapest room and do the package instead of paying $50 per night for an upgrade to a jacuzzi room. Don't pay for the jacuzzi room or Temptation suite and then order drops of love - they will overcharge you for that and not say a thing about it!
Hey Troy. Thanks for the info. We loved the people week 8. But the weather was ugh. We like it hot so we are trying April. If you could do something about the weather and the cold pool we would be back in feb. We hope to switch from once a year to twice if we enjoy April as much as our other trips. So if we get offered the upgrade to a suite we will jump on it. And my curiosity sure is peaked on the sensual massage so pm me if there is more to share.
Thanks for the info. I don't mind a little f word every once in a while. I would be frustrated too if they advertised something, I looked forward to getting it and then it didn't exist. Room service wasn't a big deal to us so we are still going to go with the package. Yes, we paid $930 for a week for a regular room and then $717 to upgrade to drops of love. So $1650 works out to less than $250 a night so way better than the $483 they advertise on their website. Thanks for all the details!
