:icon_cry:All right. Here we go. Trip Report for a mostly-Desire RM but a day pass to TTR a week ago now. Man... I wish we were still there! I decided to write this, and put it in here, the TTR forum, primarily because of all the talk and discussion going on about the Rehabilitation project starting in September and lasting.... Someone needs to set up the odds on that. Steve has put it out there that he thinks at least a partial re-open is maybe 7 or 8 months, and Donald is at the other end (Skyman too I think) with a much longer estimate of 24 to 36 months (I really hope it doesn't take that long, Donald... that time frame has killed such projects under their own weight in the past, eh...). So. But, here's a thought. Let's say they close TTR down completely for the major reno., including all that exterior work, pool reno., facing and re-do on Patyo's and that covered area etc. Stuff that they HAVE to be closed to do as nobody would have anyplace "to be." At the same time, they blitz one or two sections, let's say the 5000 building, as it is the easiest to reno, having been touched up between 2007-2008. Then, when the major outside reno and the 5000 bldg work is done, they "could" re-open with just that, to start the flow again. I bet they could get that done as Steve is saying, in the 7-9 month range. Then the work could simply flow from the 5000 bldg down the line, eventually getting everything done, but with some ongoing work after they re-open. Just athought. Now, on to the story!

A mostly DRM report, for my TTR people. I'm ripping through this so please forgive any strangulations on spelling or the massacre of syntax.

BEGINNING: It is the usual get up early go to the airport thing, but this time we were able to take advantage of Southwest Airlines flying from Houston to Cancun now... sweet! No driving all the way across Houston (it's about an hour, I really feel for those of y'all that have to drive 5-6 hours to get to your airports). So, for our 8:45 a.m. flight, 2 hours early, I'm getting up at 6:00 a.m. Nifty change from the 4:30 a.m. to get to Bush Intercontinental. Also, our outbound AND inbound Customs & Immigration experience was so smooth and painless we (when we got back) literally beat our bags to the carousel.... which has never happened to us ever at the other airport. It's often more like waiting an hour in this line, to go to that line and wait another hour... ack! Not this time, so that's a great change-up!

Last trip in on United they had gotten rid of the everyone puts their bags on the scanner thing, but it is there in place at the terminal which receives the Southwest passengers. Same deal, get bags, put the helmet down, cover up the football with both hands, keep knees pumping high to get through the line and into the secondary.... wait... I'm looking forward to football season a bit much, that's just us getting out through the scammers and ride-providers to our ride. The TTR members are being directed into the ALLDOTOURS (they always capitalize it for some reason, so I will too) guys, who are generally out there at Spot 53 I think it is. Usually, when we come in on United, we've got about 5 minutes for our ride to be there so I can hit that little cantina at the aeropuerto exit area and grab a very-overpriced Negro Modello and get Stacia her Vodka-Sprite with lime but this time as we were walking out the guys noted our approach and steered us right to the waiting suburban. Nifty timing. Ride to Desire Riviera Maya (DRM later) was, or at least seemed to me to be, just slightly longer - though it shouldn't - than getting to TTR. Getting into/onto the DRM property is more... reclusive than TTR's drive up at the front in the valet loop thing, with the VIP drop-off style they have going. At DRM, it's down a road, which turns into a gravel road, over a bridge with a sign to watch out for crocodiles (not kidding) and then stop at a security check-point, where they keep track of all entry & exit traffic. Checking the name on their inbound list against their manifest, I suppose we can call it, and the gate whirs open and in goes the ride.

DRM is pretty, you guys. It's like lots of little villas out in the jungle, very close (farthest distance is probably 75 feet) to the beach. We've not been to Pearl yet, and people say it looks even better, but DRM is plenty nice to look at. We get out, get met by one of the butler staff, who acts also as bell-captain, who whisks the luggage away to await us coming out with our directions to the room in hand. We had 2104 this time, and we didn't like it. But, I don't like moving my bags around even more, so we made it work. The only thing you do in your room..... yeah, you get it. 2104 is on the ground floor, which is good when you're a bit... umm... crushed drunk I think is the term, but here at DRM you sort of get screwed out of the upstairs balcony which each room upstairs has. Downstairs, they try o make up for that with the lawn/patio furniture area right out in front of the entry door and it's just not the same. Room was smallish, king bed wasn't... probably making the room seem smaller. This is interesting, as the upstairs room which had a similar ocean view seemed/felt quite a bit bigger last time. Bathroom counter space must be expensive in Mexico, as there isn't ever much - which always distresses the ladies. Guys, expect your girl to have her stuff out of the bathroom on the dresser top, it just seems to work better for a bunch of those girl-type things involving faces and hair.

So, we get the room, we're banded, and off we go to head to the.... whatever we find first. Since 2013, they've redone the pool area and principal restaurant area, which houses the buffet, quite a bit. Both things being larger. A swim-up bar has been added in the pool (there's the other one in the upstairs 40-person hot tub, too for those of you who didn't know that). As we go walking out, the butler guy asked us where we'd like to place our things, at the pool or down on the beach. Since Stacia's there she says Beach, so he takes us there and sets us up with a couple sun loungers, towels and we get nekkid and grease each other up.

I really want to digress for about a page and a half on describing in detail how deliciously sexy it is to put sun-screen on your naked lady (or for such ladies, on your guy) right out in the open. It's just damn hot, but I'll stop at a paragraph. Let's just say I prefer putting the screen on while Stacia's standing, rather than reclining. Wooo.... Hawt!

So, now we're in place, screen on, shades on, clothes off. Oops, no drink in hand! Wait, there's a beach bar about 20 feet behind us, with merry-making folks hanging out talking to the bartenderess, C.C. a fixture for quite some time. We head up, get the required libations, chat a bit, introductions around to the 6, 8 folks, and then back to the sun on the beach until the heat makes us get in the water. Drinks finished, go for a walk up and down the beach. Still clothing-less. Still enjoying the hell out of that, gotta say. About an hour of beach time later, she asks and I agree and we go tot he pool. Perhaps 20 or so people in the pool, and we find a place and another chair easily and drop our stuff. Just in time apparently (2:00-ish) as about another 30 or so folks make their way o the pool and swim-up bar area. Drinks flow, good times. Getting abuzz already, so we need food. Get out, grab my trunks and her cover-up and lunch buffet we enter, food is pretty good. Chicken fajitas, mexican style not Tex-Mex but I can survive. Back out to the pool, meet a couple who reminds Stacia of someone we know from TTR and we meet S.B. & S.B., who live outside Toronto. Great people hung around and partied with them the rest of the trip, including many others, as noted below.

Here's another thing about TTR vs. Desire that happened to us the last time at DRM as well. We're social, gregarious folks, like to meet & mingle and have a good time. At TTR, we'll typically meet 1, maybe 2 couples to hang around and do things with, and bounce off of, talking briefly with, doing shots with whatever (imagination use required here) probably 20 others. At DRM, we met almost everyone there (smaller, 114 rooms in total), but we really got to know 6 couples over the course of the stay, and we all generally moved around togethre and hung out, dancing, eating, partying hot tubbing etc., the whole time. We didn't exclude anyone who wanted to hang around a bit - not cliquish, not like that -- just more and deeper talk. Weird stuff happens when everyone is naked. It's interesting. It's like everyone takes their social armor off and becomes "real" again. Enough philosophy...

The DRM themes I can remember were, in no particular order, Burlesque Night (bustiers and corsets, garters etc), Bunnies & Millionaires, lingerie Fantasy, ABC, Neon-Glow (with the option to be bodypainted and go in just that). Needless to say, there's a pretty good participation rate amongst the ladies in some nights wherein normal lingerie is the "set-up" I'd say about 80% or higher on corset/bustier night, lots and lots of stockings around. I put the daily ... schedule in another thread recently, but basically it amounts to this IF you were at DRM partying the night before:

Noon: get up, do breakfast, ggo to beach or seek out pool chair
3:00 p.m. -- Go get some more food
4:30 p.m. -- Go to the party hot tub
7:30 to 8:30 - get out of hot tub, realize you're starving again, and go to the room to clean up and get dinner.
10:00 DRM nightly show of some kind
    11:00 show ends, nightclub opens
1:00 a.m. or after -- Leave nightclub and go back to hot tub for more naked time with 40-ish of your closest friends on the planet
    Zero-Dark-thirty - crawl to bed

The first day we did the beach layout thing, but after that 1st day, what we'd do is when we wanted a stroll off we'd go, get down to the beach and go up and down it a couple times to get the cool breeze, grab a beach bar beverage, and there you go. After that 1st day, each day started at the pool. No clue why, it just did. Maybe she got her "fix" of the beach enough? Anyway, service around the pool is fantastic, a server-girl named Sylvia is On It! Almost without fail the entire week, if you were at the pool and though to yourself, "I think I'd like another..." Wham! It'd be behind you, Sylvia handing it to you without an order being placed. Magic! Psychic! Skill, actually I think. Sylvia's got game.

The typical fun, frolic stuff happened in the hot tub, and if you've not been and you want to see and experience what you want to happen while at TTR but the security guys have to move in and put the kibosch on it.... you should have a good time at DRM. By way of example, A fan-favorite, Mexican Luge shots got the party started. (Mexican Luge = nickname for a shot wherein the hot lady crouches down, ass in the air witht he person taking the shot behind her and another partner - the Ski Instructor - yes, metaphors mixed up but whocares, it's fun! pours the shot of choice in the top of the cleft between the cheeks. The Shoot-er gets down and in and gets that shot. Good time! Very much fun to see ladies shooting on ladies, just saying...

At some point, should someone feel an urge, other playtime activity can take place in the hot tub, too... and it's an odd feeling, and quite sexy, to just kick back and talk while about 8-10 feet a couple is enjoying each other. Nifty, y'all. Not for the prudish, obviously, but definitely a good place to pry open your life envelope a bit.

No real "games" or "shows" organized by the staff at hot tub time -- it's just not needed. Since you can play as much grab-ass (or grab whatever else) you want in the hot tub, it's not necessary - the party is primed and ready and needs nothing to get going. Simply add a little alcohol and you're good to go.

It IS a different "feel" if you will from TTR, but still very much a fun place, and in some ways, more thrilling aand exciting, but you do want to be omfortable. I can't imagine people going to Desire not knowing where they were headed.... I imagine suitcases being thrown off of balconies, etc. But, if you have been to TTR a couple-three times and loved it, you ought to give DRM a try.

Here's another couple anecdotes.... Sitting in the disco/nightclub's bar area, music playing, my lady by my side, she was able to get up on the bar, lean back and do a couple fan kicks around me, grabbing my head with her heels and Wallah, I become a talented, yes, dare I say it, a cunning and skilled linguist. Later on the dance floor, Stacia's dress became more of a belt, than dress, riding up and being pushed down (yes, guilty party here). And... no security to challenge. Only "Way to go, that was hot" from other party goers. As I say... it's a different experience.

Food: The food at DRM is better than at TTR, even with the step-up in quality which has been working at TTR for the past few trips. Don't get me wrong, I think TTR's food is top-notch for places in Mexico, but DRM is quite a bit better. Makes sense, they have a larger budget with which to buy the groceries and supplies. One day we had "Cajun Night" and I nearly exploded I had so many hot & spicy chicken wings (some of the best I've ever had, anywhere you guys). Other nights the food was just as good, too, but different themes and such. They have a hibachi grill you can sit around with 8-10 people, but to do that you need to "Make a reservation," which amounts to walking by during the day and asking for it - simple.

Drinks: Both a compliment and a complaint here. It's odd, but TTR now has Dos Equis lager, Presidente, Sol & Tecate Light available. DRM.... not so much. Dos Equis lager, that's it. I asked about it, and they did not have anything else on the resort. Probably because of the resort's small size, but still. They've got a list of vodka as long as my arm, some good bourbon, scotch variety, couple of whiskeys and for the weird people who like Gin, a couple of high end ones I sort of recognized. Bartenders have skill, too. TTR's resident drink list isn't over at DRM, but if you have an idea of how the thing is made, they'll swing at it and keep tweaking until you're happy with what you get.

Entertainment: The nightly shows are really very, very good, sexy and entertaining. First night there, a group of dancers (both girls & guys) came out and did a show down inthe lobby bar and patio area, and they moved around in the crowd dancing and doing the show, very sexy. One night a girl did a hanging rope and veil thing, again, very good. A third night the show was int he nightclub/disco and a husband-wife dance team did a very sexy show wherein first she did a solo thing, then got a guy out of the rowd... the was repalced by her husband, who did a bit of a male revue thing, then grabbed a (quite willing) girl out of the crowd and proceeded to do indescribable, but Hot! things to her, then the team did a dual number where I think they worked themselves up and had to run off and take care of each other.

Overall, even if TTR wasn't closing for a "while," we'll be back to DRM for certain. Too much sexy fun, of a different type & variety, to not do so.

Oh... almost forgot, our TTR Day Pass. Stacia asked the guy who was talking to us about the new "Villas," at DRM (we weren't interested), but there was a good group of people headed over to TTR from DRM and we jumped aboard. Ended up being there with 4 other couples who had left for either the day or to spend a couple of overnights at TTR. Got to TTR, said hello to Norma & Damien in the Premier Desk room, saw all the front door guys and said Hi to everyone, then made our way down to the Sexy Pool and got to say or wave HI to all the servers there. Sad that Emmi is gone, but there it is. Got a Purple Shit to start the day right, it was so tasty had another one in about 5 minutes and the buzz was slightly afloat. Found the DRM crew, watched a pair of hem doing some bodypainting.... which turned into nude bodypainting for about 20 minutes before a sec-guard strolled up and subtly asked the girls to: A) put something on; or B) go down tot he beach (no kidding). Probably going to some other dudes jurisdiction. They were having fun and everyone was having fun watching them, lemme say. So, traipse off to the beach, pic-time, bunch of our girls getting goofy-sexy pic-time/pic-fun, got naked, that went on for about 15 minutes... and.... slowly... nother sec-guard slides into place and, again subtly and graciously, asks the ladies "please put bottoms back on." No worries, handled. Fun times, then everyone laughing and carrying on, back to the Pool. Shenanigans continue into the familiar blurred fog that is the Sexy Pool after 4:00 p.m. most days... Ahh...

Next day, back up at DRM follwwing the schedule set out above.

As trips go, I give this last one a 9.5 out of 10. it was that much fun.

Great trip report and good timing! We will be spending 4 - 5 days at TTR & Pearl beginning this Saturday, first time to both. Look forward to seeing if the vibe at Pearl is similar to your RM experience.

Sylvia is the best, when we were there in January she was working the beach. Our drinks were never empty and she always had a smile on her face.

Precisely, very nice and elegantly pretty lady, smiling all the time. She worked both the beach and the pool this last trip, but mostly around the pool is where we saw her...

Well, since we were AT the pool mostly, that's where we Would see her, huh. Not like we could see her at the beach while we're at the pool without some time travel option being used... duh.
