Thinking about going to a wedding there in May. I know it's new so there is not a lot of info about it. Trip advisor is just a bunch of people whinning about little the little things and I new I would get better info here.

    Thanks

hey! I dont know too much about it. I know Dreams Cancun( if that is the same) is absolutely beautiful! A girlfriend of mine went there for her honeymoon and she absolutely loved it. Great service, great food and beautiful pools/views.

However, check the hotel forum... there may be more info there.

Not sure which one you planning on going to. There is a Dreams Cancun and a Dreams Riviera Maya Cancun. But we just returned from a week at Dreams Cancun in the Hotel Zone. You will love it if this is the one your thinking of going to. If this is the one and you have any questions about it just drop us a line or ask here we will do our best to answer.

TNCJ1 , we are going there april 12th . Most of the reviews I have been able to find are a couple years old , nothing very recent. Can you give us a current review? It would be very appreciated. Thanks.

    agvet1993-

All I know is that it's new and it's pretty huge!

I interned at the Paradisus for awhile, which is right next door. I can tell you the beaches around there are very nice and spacious.

I also interned at Dreams in Cancun's hotel zone. That one is gorgeous and has great service, so I would expect the same or better in the Riviera Maya.

    Jim813-

If you read reviews from a few years back, you were probably looking at Dreams Cancun, in the Hotel Zone. Dreams Riviera is just a few months old.

If you are going to Dreams Cancun, I used to intern as a concierge there and may be able to help you out with some questions. (I understand they just got their beaches redone to make them more spacious) Personally, I think it's a great hotel. It has the best location in Cancun (right on the corner of the hotel zone, meaning it has more beaches than most) and one block from most of the nightclubs, while still being the most secluded hotel in the Hotel Zone.

Thanks guys , I did not have any real specific questions . I was really looking more for general advice/opinions than anything. Gringation , you are correct , I was looking at reviews for the dreams in the hotel zone , that is where we are going . I am guessing that most of those reviews were from before it was Dreams and shortly after it changed. TNCJ1 .. right after I posted that note I did run across your review . I am glad to see that you enjoyed your stay , we hope to do the same. Probably our biggest concerns are room cleanliness and food quality . We dont have a problem with older rooms as long as things are clean and well kept. That seems to get positive reviews on most everything I have read. We also dont require 7 course gourmet meals ( although if they were available we wouldnt turn them down) but do want what we eat to be good quality. We always enjoy the vast asst of fresh fruits and local dishes places like this offer . Any comments about those areas would be appreciated.

As i stated in the review all 3 of the restaurants we tried had very good food, actually much better than we were expecting for an AI resort. Breakfast is only served in The World Cafe, it is pretty much the same every day but their is a wide variety of choices so we never got bored with it. The room was cleaned daily and the maids came back between 6-10 P.M and done the turn down service and re-cleaned the bathroom and replaced used towels. The selection of food was pretty good at the other restaurants, there are no reservations required at any of them just go in and give them the info they ask for, no wrist bands at Dreams. The World cafe does not have a dress code at anytime but the others at night do have a dress code but its pretty lax khaki's or Bermuda shorts and collared shirts for men, women just pretty much anything nice. We really think that you will enjoy your stay here,as a matter of fact we liked it so much we are looking and planning to return for 10 days in September.
