Don’t get fooled into the Booze Cruise, accept no substitutes for the BOOBS CRUISE

If you are new to this site and/or Temptations, then you will see lots of references to what is called the "Boobs Cruise". The owner and operator of this website and forum (Steve) also runs an all-day boat trip which leaves from Temptation called the "Boobs Cruise".

There is no real way to describe what this boat trip is all about, you just have to experience for yourself. But a quick summary is as follows: A group meets at PatyO's at 10am. Balances are paid off, and the group walks down to the docks offsite the resort. A large (or huge if your group reached maximum levels) catamaran pulls up to the dock, you board, and the fun begins. There can be up to 3 amazing people (Chinos, Omar, Polly) on the entertainment crew, and then there is a full crew taking care of everything else on the boat. A DJ with a great sound system supplies the tunes, and a bartender keeps the alcohol flowing. It is a day of dancing, drinking, sexy games, and god knows what else. Pretty much anything goes on the boat, just be respectful of others. Most girls lose their tops, some lose their bottoms, and you may even see some X rated stuff going down (But if you don't like to see that, then just go somewhere else on the boat, there is plenty of space and nothing is ever right in-front of you...unless you want it to be). The boat stops in the water for some refreshing skinny dipping And then continues its cruise to Isla Mujeres, where everyone gets off for lunch. More drinking, dancing, eating, and games happen on the island, then it's back to the boat for more of the same; wrapping up around 5pm. There is much more to say, but I don't want to define everything from my experiences alone. I can say this though, we joined our first Boobs Cruise knowing nothing about it, new friends at the end of my first trip convinced us to go on our second to last day(they all had been on it before). By the time the day ended I stumbled off the boat thanking that crew for one of the best parties I have ever been a part off in my life, and if you knew my past that says something

The resort itself runs their own version of this trip, but it is just a regular Booze cruise. It can be fun, but it isn't exactly the same. The reason why I am writing this up is sometimes people can get mixed up and end up booking the wrong trip when they are there. You just have to be on the lookout booking at the resort, because obviously they want your business and will tell you whatever it is you want to hear so you hand over a deposit for a trip.

With as much as I know about things, it happened that last May we ended up on the Booze cruise. It was an accident, but it is what it is, and ended up being "semi" funny. Days of drinking sometimes can confuse the brain, and that’s what happened to us.

So here is a bit of our story with some comparisons:

As we were sitting down on the boat, to what we thought was just going to be a short ride to Isla (with drinks, parasailing on the way there, free day on the island, then a ride back also including drinks) I looked at my group of 6, all seasoned BOOBS cruise vets, and realized what happened...the thing I read before, we got duped and were on the temptation booze cruise.

I informed everyone what was about to go down, and the look of panic on everyone's faces was priceless. We tried to get off and get our money back, but they weren't having it. The other passengers were not from Temptation except our group and one other couple. The other couple knew what they signed up for, and were happy (quiet pool people). We weren't. We just decided “whatever let’s do our thing, and make the best of it."

The trip was basically a very weak version of the boobs cruise, with the same itinerary. There was an MC and a DJ, and there were people serving drinks. It went to Isla for 1.5 hour of shopping, and it went to the same lunch place the boobs cruise does. It also had a snorkeling part.

Let me try to break the differences out:

1. The MC was trying and doing a pretty good job, but clearly there is corporate overhead governing him. He wore a uniform and a white hat that said "HOOST" (the joke was it was supposed to be host). He cursed and said funny stuff, but it felt very forced and unnatural. We almost felt bad for him, and I am sure my group wasn’t making his job any easier.

2. The MC spent lots of time going over rules and just general talking on the mic. People sat and listened. Whenever he made announcements, all fun and conversation had to stop on the boat.

3. When you thought you had about enough of the rules and the speech, he said it all over again in Spanish. (nothing against anyone that doesn't speak English, but it really stinks to hear it all over again)

4. The stereo system was weak. My home theater is probably louder.

5. The drinks were very weak, and there was not nearly enough people serving them. At one point we took a giant pitcher and drank it ourselves. Then my one friend actually started serving other people (people were grateful we were trying to help and pump things up)

6. Coming from Temptation, and being around very similar minded people all day, the random resort people on this cruise were slightly odd. Very reserved at first, but once they got a little drunk, it was like hanging out with people with zero drinking experience that get stupid obnoxious and are not fun to be around. At one point 25% of the males were jumping like animals on the net like it was trampoline and trying to launch themselves higher. I thought maybe they were 13 years old. (I am sure this doesn’t happen on every cruise but it did on ours. Remember Boobs cruise or Booze cruise the group makes the party, and every party is different)

7. Parasailing promise never happened. They said the wind wasn't right. (this was one of the main reason we booked this, for a quick ride over including parasailing)

8. Lunch was the same as we are used to, but there was 5X the amount of people at the same place from all different tours. It was a madhouse of people pushing and shoving and cutting in line. Not a pleasant dining experience.

9. Lunch did not include drinks (Boobs cruise does)

10. Snorkeling was annoying. They dropped you in groups, and the boat circled. If you wanted to stop, you basically couldn’t. Unless you made your way all the way back to the moving boat somehow. Luckily we were good swimmers, and knew what we were doing. Other people really didn’t like it.

11. They tried to nickel and dime you for everything (dock fees, golf cart rental, etc...the cheap price we thought we were paying, wasn't close to accurate)

12. The rules were annoying. I understand they were trying to keep it safe, but the way they go about it seems like it can cause more problems

13. Again the people, too mixed up. Some people looking to party, some people not, ages all over the place, lots of single dudes being lame. It just wasn't a comfortable party feel

14. The tips…man did they really try to force tips out of you at the end, and got very upset when you didn't give them enough. I really really didn't like this. I know it wasn't their fault we got duped, but I wasn't trying to pay so much money for what I thought was a ride. They weren’t trying hard enough, from a service perspective, to really deserve a whopping tip anyway.

15. No topless people. A few times some girls flashed during dancing contests, but that was it. The dudes went crazy when this happened, and we just shook our heads laughing at how lame it was.

OK so at the end they tried to do the “sing our way back to the dock” like the boobs cruise does. It was cheesy and didn't feel the same. At this point I felt guilty, and like I was cheating on Chinos and Steve, I had enough and dove off the boat to return to TTR. They didn't like this at all, but F them.

They said that it was one of the crazier cruises, it was basically 40% of what the BOOBS cruise is. I would save my time and money if I was anyone. A bad day at the sexy pool would have been way better than our experience. But I am sure for anyone staying at a vanilla resort, this booze cruise would have been a highlight. We probably would have had a better time on it if I didn’t know any better. It’s like I would be very happy eating beef chuck steak, not knowing Prime Rib existed.

We agree!!!! did the same thing our first trip to temptations.... people told us about the cruise at breakfast.... and of course 2 hours later someone giving us towels talked us in to the booze cruise...thought that was what the couple had mentioned to us...and it was fun, but...... the following year we found the BOOBS ...and i mean BOOOOBS CRUZ!!! We have been hooked since!!!! M/J

 

So, if your stay is long enough that 2 boobs cruises are happening during the course of it, would you go to both of them or just pick one? I'm registered for June 9th and trying to decide whether to do June 5th too. Thanks!

Really up to you and your budget but I'd try and go to the earlier one at a minimum...that way you meet more people to socialize with the rest of your time at the resort. Only difference might be if it falls on the day of the foam party and you want to go to that...also might want to avoid going to one that falls on lingerie night day...

 

LOL! Thanks. It seems I did the exact wrong thing. Signed up for the later one (9th), which is the same day as the foam party AND the lingerie party. Guess I'll sign up for the 5th too, and play the 9th by ear. Appreciate the advice!

Steve might just let you move your deposit over to the one on the 5th if you ask nice

 

We ended up on the booze cruise because we couldn't make the Boobs Cruise. It was good fun (even though I was extremely hungover) but definitely regret missing the Boobs Cruise!

 

Fantastic advice, we probably wouldn't have known any better if not for this forum. We will definitely be looking for the official boob cruise during our stay!

You should actually sign up ahead of time as it can sometimes be completely sold out.
