Saw that on the news last week. Hmm....many of my divorce clients could end up as my criminal clients if I practiced in Michigan.
Hmmm... I can already see that a lot of appeals will be forthcoming with the argument that this law is clearly lacks separation of state and church. I mean with the seventh of Ten Commandments being: Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery. However every state probably has laws that were written years ago, which are still on the books, but rarely enforced.
If they decide to jail everyone who cheats in Michigan, who will close the jail house doors? I think AZ still has laws that make it a fellony to have back door sex. So all of you who scored over 300 on the fines post, you better stay away from AZ.
Here is a link that gives some of the ridiculous laws for some of the states. Ironically enough, I can recall that Michigan did actually prosecute an individual not too long ago for cursing in front of children in a public place (in a shopping mall or supermarket I think). They had it splattered all over the national news. www.lawguru.com/weird/part01.html Also for instance... here in Indiana you cannot purchase cold soft drinks in a liquor store. You can purchase them but they are warm. This also includes Red Bull. As this link also states, you cannot purchase milk in a liquor store here. Not sure why but that's how it is. You can however purchase all of the cold fruit juices that you little heart desires. Maybe they just want to make sure that drinkers get there daily recommended vitamins and minerals. Oh yeah and remember when you are in Florida... no sex with a porcupine. Ha! How hard up can one be?
