Isla Mujeres or Mayan Riviera ..... I tend to side for Isla Mujeres, buts whats the general conscencious on the best place for a Dolphin swim
Isla, without question. It's a more "natural" setting. You are actually out in open water. When you see how high they can jump, you realize that if they wanted to leave, it would be just a hop over the boardwalk. It's a great experience. BTW, the affection the animals show for their trainers seems to indicate they are well treated.
Strange thing about dolphin/porpoises.....they will not jump over anything to escape....even a net. That's why so many are killed each year in the tuna nets....they simply refuse to jump over them to freedom. We had a pet dolphin once, her name was Dolly. You can read about her in Jacques Cousteau's book on "Porpoises and Whales" There's a whole chapter devoted to Dolly, who was the first ever known wild animal that "chose" to live in the company of humans.
