In the last 2 places I've lived, the neighbors have nad no issues letting their dogs out on the street at night.

At my current house, huge dogs come into my front yard at night and leave steamy, smelly gifts for us in the grass.

At my previous house, there was a big dog across the street who would sit on the curb and bark at everyone. He made a few motorcycles crash, and he came up to me growling on a few occasions.

I never noticed this when I lived back in Virginia... is this JUST a Mexican thing? Have ya'll had similar experiences? Why do people buy big dogs if they don't have room for them?

The street dogs are the nicer ones!!

Sorry, I just... had to whine about this somewhere haha.

Some people will impose their pets on you, and get offended if you object. Others are more considerate....

My sister considers anyone who visits in her home who doesn't actually enjoy her dogs- breathing on you, slobbering on you, trying to kiss you; or, if they're in the mood, trying to hump your leg- to be less than a human being. Putting them in another room when she has guests is out of the question: her pets are to be shared....

Sounds like your neighbors are similarly generous.

I DO prefer when the dogs do this rather than the humans... :daveandmo:

Dog-poop is nothing compared to human-poop, used diapers, a 40 or so beer-bottles, Mc D`s and taco "plates", cigarette-buds, aggressive drunks etc. :headbanger:

Ps. And this is BEFORE the election-crap starts on our street...again... :(

Epic: Have you seen the house on the corner...? Reckon our park will be under siege again by supporters/protesters, chanting all night, stealing electricity, littering(and I mean TONNES!!) etc..?

I think this is a cultural thing. In the states its just not OK to let your animal roam freely unless you live in the middle of nowhere. To generalize I think the people clearly have different ideas of whats considerate and appropriate here. For example my neighbor blasts the most horrific top 40 music loud enough I can clearly make out the words inside my apartment with the door and windows closed. In the US thats just not OK especially in an apartment type setting. Here it seems to happen quite frequently. In my neighborhood we also have dogs barking at anything or anyone walking by. It may seem annoying to those of us with different experiences but at the same time I understand how having a large barking dog could be desirable if you dont want strangers coming where they arent invited. Thats my opinion.

I second that! The most annoying thing my neighbors ever did was blast their music until 4:30 AM. With an infant to take care of and a job to go to, I really haven't been quite that angry in a long, long time.

I don't know if this works or not, but i heard that people will boil water with a lot of chili like habanero/serrano & later pour it around the edges of your property, its not harmful to the dogs, it just discourages them from visiting.

@Rawkus: I hope Gregs incarceration doesn't make it worst, i have a feeling that the bigger mob will be right beside my building since its the closest to the white house, right beside the breaker boxes for all the apartments in my building (i doubt they will steal my electricity again since i got a new box installed that is water proof & will require dismantling, while my neighbors still have those old ones that aren't even locked).

That's for sure!! My poodles don't do much in the way of scarin off the bad guys.

I'm fine with barking/growling/chest-puffing so long as they're in their yard and not chasing after me or crapping in my yard haha
