OK I know many of you have the "on vacation" mindset there and eat and drink anything you want, or just don't need to watch what you eat in general (luckies), but for the more calorically challenged (like myself) do you try to stay within reason? Or eat lightly all day and splurge for dinner (or vice versa)? I know if I drank those frothy drinks all day and ate whatever I wanted, by day 3 I'd be blown up like a tick and not fitting into my bikini lol...
I am also challenged in that area..lol..but nonetheless I do not watch what I eat while there. Subconciously I may a little but I try not to because like you said "on vacation" mentality can totally kick in!! haha..Anyway I try to get a few pounds off before I go so when I get there I don't constantly think about it. Try hitting the gym in the morning to make you feel better if that will help....:aetsch004::daveandmo:
gain 5 lbs every trip....it sucks. I like to eat whatever I want....but I thinks it's more th drinking all week that does it to me. Now I take off 10-15 before I go so I can come back somewhat normal.
eat what you want but spend a couple hrs a day exercising.....in the gym....as poor as it might be.......going for a run or power walk.......maybe a good aerobic workout routine. good exercise is the key.............and you'll feel so much better for it!
Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying I diet while I'm there...I more tend to eat a good breakfast and lunch and try to avoid carbs and desserts at dinner....I stick with seafood or chicken...and I dont have more than 2 small sweet/frothy drinks a day (more cuz it makes my stomach feel sick lol)...I dont drink mass quantities of alcohol either, mostly cuz again I dont hold my liquor well and would be puking everywhere if I did lol...yikes! Sounds like a morning workout would be key, even a 20 minute powerwalk on the beach or down the road...and yeah I'm definately working on losing 15 in the next 6 weeks so I will feel good when I get there...Monique I also gain 5 lbs every trip ugh. Takes me 2 mos to take it off somehow!
Well I did that my first time at TTR 5 years ago, however brief (i was swapping bikini bottoms w/ a GF) and security was on me in like 30 seconds lol! The top I can lose though! :flash:
Although we both are over weight neither of us gain while we are there. We drink all day and night eat whatever we want... My theory is we are busier there and much more to do. Dancing every night, swimming, walking, and yes sweating, Laughing.. not sure if it doesn anything for weight but does alot for the soul. Anyways you've been given a few good idea's, I say go don't worry be happy. For if you do gain you can lose it when you get home. Have fun
I tried.. but it does not work.. because... heres what happens to me .. I watch what eat during the day.. then come 2 or 3 am in the morning, I am drunk..lol... all my will power is gone and if I dont eat something I am going to be very sick the next morning.. soo I give in and have one of the wonderful big burgers and a plate of fries thinking it will help me in the morning but does it .. Nooooo!!! I am still hung over and sick when i wake up and need to have more food to soak up the booze from the night before...lol. the good news is .. I did gain some weight but 1 week later its gone. here is a tip though.. take bigger pants to wear home on the plane... hahah!!
you obviously take care of yourself. exercise is the key......you have to burn more calories than you take in.......it's fairly simple. I've been a fitness phreak for years............Dave is the big boy but after 20 yrs of football he knows what he needs to do.
