Doctor in the house & house calls- Yes ! Thumbs Up

While Bob (A.K.A. Mullet Man) & I just returned from another amazing trip to TTR, I would like to share something with you. So after a few days arriving at TTR, I started not feeling well and then it progressively got worse within a 48 hour period. Started out feeling tired, then feverish, sore throat and tonsils, swollen lymph glands in the neck, intense headache and muscle weakness/body aches, fever and yes, night sweats. Just like the menopause kind- Sweet. Bob was amazing. He went over to the Pharmacia and purchased a Z-Pac, Emergen-C and Halls. Unfortunately, the meds did not work. He went to the buffet and grabbed me a plate of everything in hopes that I could get something down as I was getting weaker by the minute. I could only take few bites. I was pretty much bed bound for two days. He kept checking on me and I was not getting any better. I felt so bad for him and ruining his vacation too. Then I woke up on I think on the third morning and told him that I needed a doctor right away. My throat was almost completely closed. Yes, I am well aware that you guys have the best medicine for this, unfortunately, not this time J He went down to the front desk and called for a doctor. Came back to the room and told me that he would be arriving within 30 minutes. Sure enough, knock knock, there he was. He was extremely professional with his Marcus Welby M.D. look and black bag. He asked me what was going on, symptoms, etc . After his exam, he said that it was either Strep Throat or Mono. Yep- Mono ! Holy shit, have not had this since I was a kid. He said he could be confident in the diagnosis if he could do the cultures, etc. End result, he treated me anyway, which I was fine with and soooo thankful he did. He asked me if I wanted to be better in a few hours or a few days. Duh, you know my answer. So, out of the magic black bag came all the syringes, needles, everything sealed in the plastic wrap as you would see in a medical setting. He gave me a big ole shot of penicillin in the arsss, filled a prescription of Levaquin, upper respiratory meds and pain meds for my extreme headache. The cost for the house call and all meds came to $260.00 USD. Cash only. He also wrote me a receipt on his prescription pad listing everything and the costs so I can get reimbursed through my insurance company, travel insurance or through Chase. He was a God sent. In closure, within two hours I was at 90% better. Within the next 24 hours, I was 100%. If ever you think that you have something or a potential need for a Dr., please don’t hesitate. I wish I would have called him on day one. Thanks to all of you who kept Bob company and the well wishes for me J Ang.

Yes we had to use the resort doctor a couple of years ago. Vey nasty case of Bronchitis. High temp, horrible cough and crud from my lungs. My wonderful wife, I call her Nurse Goodbottom, went to the front desk for help. About an hour later, the Doctor showed up. A shot to the rump, and an RX for antibiotics and I was on my way to feeling better.
Be aware, our Dr. wanted cash only. $100.
I understand from a post by Steve, there is now a Doctors office across the street that will see you on a walk in basis.

Reg actually had to go to the Hospitien(hospital) once and I was freaking out! But again the Doc asked "do you want to feel better sooner or later?" Totally impressed at the hospital too everything as it would be back home as I was watching like a hawk not knowing what to expect. Just make sure you have enough room on the credit card to pay. It was $800+ for a 4 hour stay. Our insurance company would have paid them directly but neglected to give us the right contact #for out of country. Got reimbursed when we got home

 

we also used that DOC with the LITTLE Black Bag,,,,,,3 stitches to the knee plus a shot for the pain (didnt work)....$300 U.S. ......TTR scar PRICELESS.....
