All- It seems like overall the general reviews of TTR Cabo have been gettin better on this website and on "TripAdvisor.com" One key item that continually has less than rave, and een dismal, reviews is the food. Does anyone know if the managers/staff/owners access these sights? Does anyone know a way to find the managers and owners emails, so the links to fair reviews can be forwarded. It does seem a shame for everyone to keep taking the time to review a resort with a theme that we all want to keep around, and hopefully get better with time, but nobody listens. S & B
I'm not sure if they look at them but one thing for sure is that the food comments alone are a very subjective topic. We have been to the resort 7 times and have always loved the food.
A few thoughts about the quality... We also like the food. It's all relative to us. For the great all-inclusive deal we got recently, we we're satisfied. Some perspective... We were slated to go to Maui instead of TTR Cabo last month (just for a change of pace) but when we researched the price differences, we ended up back in Cabo. Research Maui or some other beach locale and see how the prices compare--many resorts charge for every little thing like beach towels, beach umbrellas...one also ends up paying ridiculous prices for every drink, meal, desert and snack...A nice breakfast buffet alone at most Maui resorts is about $20 a person per day! A ten day trip is $400 just for breakfast. The costs can get staggering. When comparing to TTR Cabo multiply many resorts costs by three... Sorry for the ramble... Per your original posting...don't know if management still reads the comments...We saw where Sylvia (Desire's Public Relations {she's now gone}) had replied to some poor forum reviews in the past with promises of change.
One other thought, I know that they do read the comment cards. We try to give a honest opinion on things that we thought could be improved and over our trips, we have seen some changes made for the better. So if enough guests write constructive comments when they check out of the resort, good things do happen.
Just a quick note about food at resorts. We have been travelling for over 20 years, once or twice each winter, and have heard people complain about the food at every resort we have ever been to. From 2 star to 5 star there is always someone who does not like the food for some reason or another. Great point CLG, about the comment cards. Use them for constructive comments and things can get better. Frivolous complaints do nothing but irratate the staff.
Omg....Being from Montreal we kinda know good food. Some things are just to a more personal opinion. As we LOVED the food there. You can't expect the highest quality but you do expect something decent. We were there with a bunch of people from Montreal and we all ate our hearts content !! We all gained weight !! Damn you Temptations !!! I guess we should have gone to the gym more....NOT less time to drink and do crazy things !!! But the food was the best we have had from any resort. So good on them if they have changed for the better !!
All- Thanks for the input. We always do comment cards, but thought this website and tripadvisor could be useful as well. I'll be honest, even when I am on vacation I like to make at least 1 meal a day "healthy," so food is always a concern. (I haven't eaten burgers and pizza except for 1x/month, or less, for some time now.) Glad for everyone's input. S & B
