Having read some of the threads here about people loosing cameras, and to but disaposable ones. I was thinking i might buy one. are they waterproof? and, if so, whats the best disposable waterproof camera to buy?
as far as I know most disposable cameras were film, Ive seen basic waterproof cameras for 89 in Canada,, i'm sure you can find some for less on Ebay. If you want a good one Canon and Olympus are among the more popular ones.99 to 300$ range and are excellent quality Most of them sink,,, so get a floating wrist band,, and put your name and room number on it. I like the Olympus ones cause they are shock proof too. They (waterproof) are one of the few things worth getting the extended warranty on. Notice I say waterproof and not underwater,,, most of theses cameras have a very limited range under water cause the flash is attached to the body..
we actually bought a waterproof case for an older point & shoot olympus we have before going to Akumal this last summer... figured if didn't work it would not be a loss as we have a newer camera anyways. It worked great, only costing about 20.00 on Amazon.
You can buy disposable waterproof cameras. I got one at Shoppers Drug Mart on the ave. Keep in mind they won't print any nudie pics off of a disposable camera here on the island. We often get the regular diposable ones from the Superstore.
We have one of the Panasonic Lumix for the general around and in the pool and beach and sand and dancing go anywhere camera. Waterproof for any non-scuba depths, dustproof, shockproof (good peace of mind during drunken dancing). Anyhow, the menu's all run fast, it's quick to shoot and takes good pics, and is cheap. Did a lot of research on them and this model seemed the most popular and had by far the least amount of negative reviews. At 120 bucks it can't be beat! And you don't have to take it to a place to get everything developed, all the pics are nice and safe with you and digital to send to friends who are probably in the pics too.
