From what I can tell there seems to be a lot of chains. Is there a local seafood beach bar?

    Thanks in advance.

We have been to Fred's House a few times and loved it bith times. It is more $ than most, but still reasonable for what you get. if you are looking for a fun romantic dinner, this is it.

We just ate at Fish Fritanga last week...I have eaten there a few times over the years and it was ok. However, the other day when we went the service was bad and the food was not good at all. This is what drives me nuts about restaurants in Cancun...they are so inconsistent. I won't go out of my way eat there again, but if I am with others that want to eat there I will give it another try.

Agree with Steve regarding Mocambo. Good prices (for HZ) and excellent selection right on the water. Three visits and all good!

That's right, Grimes, "Vasquez", for example, great for beer and ceviche, served right on the beach!

Now that you're on to Isla, let me mention one of my favorties on Isla, Olivia's, for mediterranean food. Not open on Sunday's. Popular, book as soon as you get to the island.
