We are getting in on the 8th, my birthday is the 9th, what are the odd's we can get a reservation for the 9th at one of the specialty restaurants? Last year, they were booked up days in advance. Any tips? We are not above tipping someone off for a nice dinner
We'll be there with you on the ninth. We hope your b-day is a special one and you get your reservations.
dinner You have to make reservations a day in advance I believe starting at 10:00 a.m. You could try a couple of things. You could call the resort, there is a toll free number for the resort on their web site and tell them about your birthday or the other option is to go to the restaurant the night of your birthday and ask about openings because there are a lot of no shows.
A combination of some cleavage (or some leg), and Mr Jackson will do the trick every time. A smile instead of being demanding won't hurt either.
We dont usually get up in time to make reservations so we get dressed up and go to each resturant to see which one will fit us in.. its best to go a bit early, a nice little tip to say thank you is best...for sure tell them its your birthday.. and if you cant get in to the Italian or Asian there is always the Seafood Resturant..last time we were there you didnt need reservations and its really nice too..
Is the process still the same? Go to the restaurant, wait in a line and hope to get the reservation you want and only for three days. It was not a good system the last time we were there.
The dinner reservation system is my only complaint about TTR. It really is an inadequate process and hopefully the management team will address it soon. I am sure they can copy-cat what is working for another AI Resort as far as restaurant reservation systems go. Out of 5 nights last May, I could only make a reservation for 1 night. All other nights were booked. Minor disappointment which will not keep us from returning! Hopefully we will have better luck this May!
Tough Reservations Dinner Reservations are so hard to get because they only seat 1/2 of the tables in the resturants. The Asian resturant has 13 to 15 tables in it. I ate there twice (At TTR Oct. 22 - 29 just got back) both times half the tables were empty. It was the same couples there when we got there and when we left only 1 or 2 couple got seated in that hour. There's always tables open, but they will turn U away if did not make a reservations. The Asian resturant only has 1 waiter, 1 asst. waiter, and hostess. for all the tables. The Italian resturant isn't any different (we ate there once) its a little bigger than the Asian with 20 - 25 tables.Same thing, Half full with no reservations avaliable. I find it hard to believe that, that many people skipped their reservation. We ate dinner between 630 and 730 so I kinda think that is prime time.
Perhaps someone on this site will be there a few days prior to you and would be kind enough to make a reservations for you guys? I would, but you'll be there before I will.
