Heading down in February, 6th time. Does anyone know if you can get diet tonic anywhere in Cancun. I drink vodka-tonics like water and trying to cut a few calories. Temptation lets me bring in Grey Goose so I assume they would let me bring in diet tonic if I can find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.:icon_confused:
I have just received Diet Ginger-ale concentrate from a company called Soda Stream . ( rye and Ginger) Basically you order Club Soda and add your preferred flavor, and it magically changes into whatever you want. Sparkling Flavour Mixes : Soda Stream Canada
Interestingly enough....I was watching someone in Pati'o last April play junior chemistry set on the bar and asked what they were making. And heard a similar story to what you asked...they were making their own diet tonic on the fly, kinda-sorta. They had one of those little squeeze bottles of sugar-free lemonade concentrate (like Mio except country time or whatever) and they had another little dropper of quinine, she said she was making perfect lemon tonic by getting a vodka-soda, then adding a drop of the quinine and a couple drops of the lemonade. Sounded far more fussy than I'd want to do on vacation, but people will go to great lengths for their comfort food/drinks so who am I to say? hawaiipharm quinine was what she was using and got it on Amazon. <shrug>
There are 2 grocery stores in the hotel zone. I would think they would have diet tonic water. You could contact them. The closest of the 2 is Chedraui super. Www.chedraui.com.mx I have not stayed at TTR and don't know if they have it.
An easy way to have Diet Tonic at the resort is to just ask for half as much tonic, and then double the vodka.
Today I learned that there is such a thing as diet tonic water... For some reason that never resonated with me lol
