For the 1st time since having the Desire Weeks (besides when a large group has taken over the resort), Temptation Resort has decided to have a “Host Couple” for the May Desire week. My wife and I have just returned from our 13th trip to the resort and during our stay, the resort asked us if we would be interested being the Host Couple, and we gladly accepted the invitation. Since October 2008, we have been to the resort 3 times for the Desire Weeks, 3 times when it was Desire, 7 times as the Temptation format, and will be attending all 3 Desire Weeks this year. For those that have been to previous Desire Weeks, you may know us as the “Whiteys”, a nickname given to us by the entertainment staff our 1st visit and the name has stuck with us since, both with guests and employees. The nickname’s origin is simple, we don’t tan and we try to stay as white as possible. If the name is unfamiliar, you may have seen us around the pool covered up in our sun protective clothing. We enjoy the nickname and have found people will remember Whitey and Mrs. Whitey much easier than our actual names, so that is what we will go by during the May Desire Week. As the Host Couple, there are a couple of goals. The 1st will be to provide the guests that already have reservations and people that are considering going, a point of contact prior to the Desire Week for any questions that you may have. We can also take any comments/suggestions from repeat guests that we can pass along and perhaps (time permitting) implement for this week. The 2nd goal is to make us available during the week to hear your comments, what you like, what you think the resort can be doing to make everyone’s trip more enjoyable. It will be a form of instant feedback for the resort. After the week is over, we’ll then create a summary that we’ll submit to the resort with the idea of making future Desire Weeks more dynamic for everyone. What we are not going to be doing is hosting any type of events or activities during the week, but you will see us participating. The resort is handling all the entertainment and the theme nights are available on the Temptation website (by the way, we are pretty excited about some of the costumes we have come up with for the theme nights, should be interesting). There has been a negative opinion expressed about how we conducted the “Host Couple” role during the Desire week. This is the original post from March that described who we are and what the resort asked us to do during the Desire week. We were on vacation just like everyone else, enjoying the week in whatever way we wanted, but we were to be “available” for fellow guests, taking comments, suggestions, etc. We were at the pool every day, in the jacuzzi prior to dinner, at the Melange bar in the evening, and then the disco. We spoke to many guests and received a lot of feedback. Did we speak to every guest…no, but that was never the intention of the “Host Couple”, although by the end of the week, my voice was certainly hoarse. We were not asked by the resort to organize any events, host anything special, or to be the face of the Desire week. We hope this helps clarify the “Host Couple’s” role and that is what we tried to accomplish. The Whiteys
