Hey everyone, Have the new areas of the resort opened, night club, playroom, roof terrace and restaurants? We are arriving on the 10th May and it would be great to hear if the new areas have enhanced the experience? Can't wait to have more fun in the sun!
Seen a few posts in the Desire facebook groups. They did a soft opening this week that has been a disaster. They opened without all of the work being complete and there are lots of issues.
Is the whole resort open to everyone? Is the old pool and hot tub still in use? Do you like the new resort?
The new pool opened the day we arrived. Much improvement over the old pool. The pool bar didn’t have power yet so no frozen drinks. The new lobby is also open which is where the entertainment takes place each night. The old pool is essentially flagged as the quiet pool. The existing hot tub will go away once the new one opens. I expect the new hot tub to open within 30 days. The club/playroom and Mexican restaurant in 60 days.
We were there at DRM right at Valentine's Day (just worked out that way), and they were opening up several of the new, Eden facilities. The new pool was open (freezing cold, btw) and that bar there (nice design, no electricity so no blendeds and no coffiee type drinks), but it was "open." Oddly, very little nudity there (mabe due to the water being so cold in the pool?). The new spa wasn't open yet, but it was supposed to opent he following weekend, likewise the new party place/playroom. The new restaurant at that end was open for lunch time only, but was also supposed to get going the following week. Lots of new buildings with new rooms, expansions of the "Villas," etc.
I hope they keep the water warm. It was such a nice surprise going there from TTR last year, and the pool was actually warm. How deep is the new pool?
