We have stayed at Temptation and are looking at staying at Desire Pearl or Desire RM. We are an energetic young 50's couple. What would you recommend?
We are at Pearl now,been here since Saturday and we leave tomorrow. We got a day pass and went to RM yesterday with friends we made here. They are members and do both places on each trip. Glad we did as now we know we wouldn't stay at RM. The noisy pool at RM is nicer, much warmer too. The staff are not nearly as nice or helpful as at Pearl. Every staff member you come across at Pearl will say hi or good morning or what ever. At RM they just walk by you. The hot tub at Pearl, the big one not the one at the pool is many times better than at RM based on the vibe. At RM people tend to separate into groups where at Pearl there's more mingling. The food at both is above average except for the beef. I'm from Montana beef country. The steaks here are not good based on what I'm used to. The hamburger at RM was way worse than any McDonalds burger. My wife and I got the erotic massage on Monday. Way better than we expected. We will definitely do that on each return trip. My wife had Fernando and she was brought to orgasm many times, both by him as well as the woman I had. Many times she would leave me for a minute or so so they could both please my wife. Toward the end they pushed the beds together and then participated in the two of us having sex. By that I mean both of them guided my wife into the cowgirl position and placed me inside her. Then they both placed their hands all over my wife as we had sex. She absolutely loved it. After about 5 minutes of that they left the room. Most people dress up for the theme nights. People gather in the bar area about 9pm. There's a band that plays from then until 10:30. All the bands played largely 80's music which we prefer. At 10:30 the doors open for the show in the disco. We've enjoyed those. After the 30 minute show some people will stay and dance while others filter out and head for the hot tub. The play room is in the disco and I don't think anybody uses it. I think my wife and I will go tonight just to say we did. Either that or sex on the beds around the hot tub to say we did that too. The play room at RM is twice as big and better located.
Not sure yet. I thought they might tell me at the time of the massage and maybe give me a chance to pay. They didn't and I didn't ask. We checked out today and I settled my bill. I paid $690 in extra charges and that included a lobster dinner that I think was $1500 pesos and a steak dinner that was $1100 pesos. So that's about $127. Some other minor charges so I'd guess the massage was $500. The statement they give you at check out is in Spanish and pesos so I'll figure it out on the plane home tonight.
Both Desire resorts are excellent; we've enjoyed both. I like Pearl better for their ground-level disco and jacuzzi. I also like the layout of Pearl's jacuzzi better; it's more conducive for mingling and flirting. We usually book the most affordable rooms. For this category, Pearl has the better rooms, IMO. I think RM has better food, but it's a close call. Riviera Maya recently remodeled and they have a newer Eden section. The resort is larger now. The expansion is nice, but it's less cozy and intimate. However, it's still lots of fun. We were there last month and had a b-l-a-s-t. The Playmakers were wonderful - they made us feel like VIPs They reached out to us by name, danced with us. flirted with us and overall made us feel so special. And of course, it's part of their job and they treat every guest this way. The wait staff, drink servers, bartenders, groundskeepers, housekeeping, front desk, bellboys - every one of them was friendly, helpful, smiling. Not a single sour face or unfriendly attitude. The other guests were also amazing. I am usually very shy and introverted, but the late October guests were very welcoming and fun to talk with. Generally speaking, many say the guests at Pearl are a bit older. Last time we were there (2021) the guests were mostly 40s - 60s, with a handful of 20s - 30s But trust me, these older people knew how to party. We always have a good time at Pearl.
Yes, both are excellent, similar food and service at each. For what its worth....RM has a "beach" that is mostly private (blocked off to the south and limited from the north) with beds. The beach at Pearl is nicer, but has constant foot traffic, limiting behavior a bit. The rooms are smaller at RM but the Pearl rooms just can't get a "sexy" vibe, it's like '70s grandma decorated them (except for the mansion). The EDEN expansion is super nice at RM, but the older part of the resort is stale now.
I finally got around to translating my bill. The erotic massage is listed at 9900 MXN for seduction fantasy. Today that is $480.
