We thought we had come out unscathed in terms of loss of life, but it appears that Dean did not spare Mexico after all, claiming at least 8 or 10 lives on it's second strike (different reports have different numbers, it's too soon to have a final yet, I am sure they will discover more tragic losses in the days to come). http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/world/5080039.html http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2007-08/24/content_6595916.htm
Thanks for posting that CC, unfortunately, even though Hurricane Dean spared much of the Northeastern Yucatan, he did major damage to property in Costa Maya and points inland, before taking lives and subsequently causing major damage to the Gulf area of the Mexican mainland. Many of the people in these regions are in dire need of assistance. http://hurricanecancun.com/donate/
