Aug 8-16, we're headed to Temptations in Cancun! We're planning to stay on the resort most of the time but is it worth our time to head over to Cozumel for one day? I am a huge Jimmy Buttett/Margaritaville fan (I know, cheesy) and we alsways like exploring new things. Hehe.... but is it worth a full day to take this trip? We'd want to other things there if possible but will we be disappointed?
We've never done a day trip to Cozumel but a day trip to Isla is worth a day.....IOO....lots of stuff to explore over there. Take the ferry........rent a golf cart and explore them day! Great shops, bars, beaches etc.
If you were staying in Playa Del Carmen (Rivera Maya) City which is about 1 1/2 hour from TTR it would be worth the trip from Playa Del Carmen it's a 30 minute trip across quick easy way fun and worth it, now you are staying at TTR so that's a pretty far trek but if your game it's worth it, beach and snorkeling is fabulous. I'm not sure how long it would take to get over there from the Cancun side near TTR.
Bare minimum of 3 hours RT by ground transport to the PDC ferry and back. Add 30-40 min Ferry ride each way + waiting for the ferry times. For just Margaritaville, I would say it would not be worth it. It makes for a very expensive Tshirt. The best parts of Cozumel are shore snorkeling around the island and the beach bars on the wild side. You really need a long day to get the most out of the circumisland bar hop. Its just gets to be a LONG day trying to get there from CUN to really make it work.
