I'm seeing a couple of options regarding arrival times. One at 1:15pm and another at 6:05pm. Is it worth the extra $80 pp to get the early arrival? How long can we figure on transfer time? Also curious what some of your first day agendas are on arrival day...especiallly later arrivals? We are aplanning a Thursday arrival....anything special going on Thursday nights?

    TIA

If you take the earlier flight your room might not be ready when you get there, so pack swim stuff in your carry on. Terry

no need to pay extra, just pack a suit in your carry on or on the top of the suit case that you can easily access. they will give you rour bracelett before the room is ready. they will keep your bags for you untill the room is ready. go have a drink and enjoy the pool while you wait

I would definitely arrive early for an extra $80 pp, and especially on Thursday. IMO, Thursday evenings are the best night of the week at TTR. Don't worry much about not knowing many people when the nights starts. Just dress up, and you will meet lots of guests before the night is over.

This link is one of the several about the Thursday night Casino/lingerie nights.

I agree with pretty much everyone here.

Our first trip to TTR we got there pretty late (not intentionally, long story), so we didn't really get a good feel for the place.

Our second trip a few months later had us at the resort about 1-2pm. We found out what a difference that makes.

If you get there early, you can get more acclimated to the environment. You can check out the pool activities for that day, catch a late lunch, meet a few people, and by the time the evening rolls around you're settled into "TTR Mode". Getting there in the evening means you might not get into full gear until the next day.

Thanks you guys. How long does it typically take from the time you land until you get to the resort? What is the best transfer option?

    TIA

We use USA Transfers (Brant), and book from the link on this site. Always there waiting and on time. Immigration, baggage claim, and customs are usually a breeze, and the ride is around 20 minutes. I estimate we average 60 minutes total from touchdown to registration at TTR.
