Tragic day at the N.I.U. campus thursday as a gunman opened fire on students killing 5 before taking his own life. Our daughter was in class in an adjacent building during the shootings. The classrooms were locked down immediately. During this lockdown she could see from the classroom window the victims being transported out of Cole Hall by ambulance. Went and picked her up last night as she was very shaken up by this ordeal. Sad sad day when things like this happen in our world. Scott & Lori
Glad your daughter is safe and hope she is able to deal with this tragedy hitting too close for comfort.
very sad! Being only a few hours from the campus, I have spent time there in the past!! Very tragic day, happy your daughter is safe!
Very tragic. Have followed this on the news as we have known people who have been students at NIU. Glad to hear that your daughter is safe and sound.
Glad to hear your daughter is OK. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families that were not as lucky. Jamie
OMG you guys must have been dying with worry until you found out she was OK. I am glad she is safe and sound but so sad for the ones who lost their lifes.
 Thank god she's okay!! I can imagine she was shaken though! So sad for the children & families that were not as lucky as your daughter! Scary world today!!
I'm glad she's safe now, guys.... and I'm sorry for those that lost their lives and got injured... senseless.
I too am glad to hear your daughter is OK. Boy what a tragedy this is. Of course it is all over the news. Went to the dr this morning. While waiting for my appt., I was watching tv coverage about the shooting. I made a comment about it. The guy next to me was the uncle of one of the students in the classroom. He told me that he and the student's mom knew about the shooting before it was on the media. Also, his nephew was in the last row and fortunately got out of there quickly. Fortunately he was not hurt. He has been on the media a lot says the uncle. It was really surreal to see the coverage and talk to a survivor's relative. My prayers and thoughts go out to all of those involved! Katie
