Sunday, May 16, we arrived at TTR about noon. Since Cherri was on a walker we requested a bottom floor room that was centrally located to the main areas. The staff quickly accommodated us and we were soon unpacking. We grabbed our swimsuits and headed to the pool for a drink. Within minutes it felt as if we had never left the resort. For some reason it is so easy to fall back into the groove of this place. A few handshakes and hugs and the party was on. By the end of the first day we could see that Cherri was going to have difficulty getting around with the walker, so Jamie and Chris came to the rescue. Jamie went to the night manger who called and found a wheelchair, sent a taxi to retrieve it, and delivered it at 11:00 pm. We were told to keep it and use it as needed until we left. This one gesture made our vacation. Jamie and Chris, Thank you so much. We had a good time partying and catching up with everyone, but being exhausted we made it an early night. I was up every morning about 5 am reserving chairs. Our days started with breakfast about 8 am and we were at the pool before 9 am. As usual we enjoyed the company of all our old friends from TTR and really enjoyed all the new friends we made. The games were great as always. The Crazy Darts game was one of the funniest and most entertaining dart games I have ever seen. Having played this game several times in the past, this was the best ever. I just wish everyone could see the pics. Very Graphic!!!! Ha Ha. Jamie and I did manage to win a horseshoe tournament. Though we didn’t get to participate in many games this year we enjoyed them the same. We met lots of CancunCare people at PatyO’s in the evenings. So glad to see so many new CCer’s and get to know you. The theme nights were a big hit. While we didn’t have a lot of participation on some nights, we met so many others that said they would have dressed for the occasion if they had known about the theme. Some even came up with costumes at the last minute and joined in. The two biggest hits were of course School Girl night and Glow night. Skimpy dress and Little Black dress were also a hit. Some of the others we will have to work on. We already have some great ideas for next year. Some great new inside jokes were created during these games. One involving a cats tail and a butt plug. Another involving glow paint and jello shots. The Temptation Mayor and his short staff. The saluting Kilt. Ha Ha . You just had to be there. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all that participated. Jello Shots were a big hit again this year. Seems every year we find some new ideas with this stuff. Right, Jess? When the jello shots come out the party always picks up. Yum!!!!!!. The entertainment staff was great as always. We almost missed Chinos this year. He left a couple of days before we arrived for a trip to Spain and he didn’t return until the day before we left. The others did a good job without him, though we did miss him. Bartenders were as awesome as ever. I had to keep telling them to slow down as I constantly had a new drink ready and waiting. Thanks guys, for all the shots as we had more than our share while there. When we left my liver said ”Wheeewwww”. We did have problems with the beach towels and the new rules that were started while we were there. Since our last visit, they did away with the towel cards. Now you just go to the towel hut and give your room number and get your towels. During our stay they also decided that everyone must turn your towels back in before 7 pm. If your towel wasn’t turned in you will be charged $25 and you must go to the front desk, turn in your towel and ask that the $25 charge be removed from your account. This change was made without telling anyone. You only found out when you went to exchange wet towels and they sent you to the front desk. There were a lot of pissed off people as this was a big inconvenience. A very poor management decision. The resort ran at anywhere from 78% to 95% capacity while we were there. Much different than the 30% during the Flu scare when we were there last year. We did notice a higher percentage of younger adults than we usually see. We really enjoyed meeting all our old friends again and look forward to May 2011. All our new friends will then also be old friends. I introduced several people to CancunCare and this forum and I hope we see some new faces on here soon. I will not attempt to name all of you individually as I am sure I would forget someone. We enjoyed each and everyone of you and can’t wait until next year. Some of you we will see before then. Thanks to all for an awesome time. A month ago we didn’t think this year was even possible with my recent surgery and Cherri’s injury and surgery. We took a chance and all of you made it worth while. We love you all!!!!!!!!!! We do want to make a special shout out to our old friends Craig and T who surprised us with a visit to TTR. T has just recently survived a long and hard battle with breast cancer and is an inspiration to all women. Thank you for your love and friendship. Party On………………………………....... Pictures posted soon……………………
Thanks for the TR....12 days until we leave...can't wait...these trip reports are making us jealous...
Ahhh... excuse me but the Mayor has an extended staff..... thank you very much! Always knew a party was happening when the wheel chair sowed up! Jamie
Great time! We had a great time meeting everyone from the forum at TR and loved the theme parties! Had the weather been better that week I think it would have made the trip much better... as it was we made the best of it! Everyone that we met was so nice... hope to take a trip there next year if we can! Nice Trip report BTW! All the best Tom & Aggie (hawkhe11)
Glad you had a fab time. Sounds like you had great fun They didn't do that with the towels at the beginning of May so it must be really new - that's a rubbish system. Lynfa x
