I arrived today and got the "dreaded" red stop light in customs! I had 2 laptops
( both used) and the guy tried to say I couldn't pass with both of them.

I told him one is personal and one is for business. he started to give me a speech that they changed the law , bla blah blah , I told
him I own a home here and have been coming down here since '94
(didn't have a laptop then , lol) and never heard of this.

he told me to forget it and get my stuff and go.

what gives , did they change the policy or is it as always , depends on who you get!!!!!!!!

When I went back to PA last month with a broken laptop, I was going to be returning here with two until I read the Customs form... 1 laptop or PC per person. And you are allowed one tablet as well. Not sure when/if there was a change; but that is how it's written out currently.

I've seen before that the rule is 1 laptop per person as well... not a Cancun/Mexico customs thing, but a general rule everywhere for air travel. I'm surprised you got through security on your way here, to be honest. :p

gringation- now that you mentioned it , a TSA agent in Houston commented that I had two laptops but she didn't stop me from passing through security. I thought at that the time it was a strange comment as I have travelled with 2 laptops virtually every time I have come to Cancun.
I usually bring back a used one for family here , I guess I didn't read the form!
