    Hi guys,

Which currency is best to bring? I'm not too bothered about the exchange rate in all honesty, I just want to bring the easiest currency to use... everything seems to be priced in US dollars... is that just because most of you are from the states? Any brits out there who can shed any light on this for us?

Since we are from the states, we use US dollars for everything. I'm not wrapped up in the exchange thing either. If they make a buck or two on me well so be it. Better than bringing home a bunch of pesos I can't spend at home :ernaehrung015:

Easiest currency is Pesos. Pesos are the National currency of Mexico, you wont encounter any problems using them, anywhere.

US Dollars are widely accepted too which is why many from the US use them since it's familiar to them and they can get an idea of how much they are spending without converting plus not having to bother with money exchange.

Since you're a Brit (as am I) I'd recommend you bring Pesos. I should add you should ignore advice from UK travel agencies about not bringing US dollars as they are "no longer accepted in Cancun", the only people who wont accept them are...... UK travel agencies. Go figure!

Bring an ATM or Debit card. You can get US dollars in the airport atms and a some pesos at the exchange counter and also Pesos in Cancun City from ATMs there. With the best exchange rates at atms. I agree with Steve that pesos is the way to go.

    ok,
this is just what we learned to do after many trips.
    for one week trip
we take $100 in ones for tipping and cabs.(they never have change it seems)
we also take an additional $600 , half in $20s and the rest in $100s
make sure all are the newer bills and not torn at all.
we exchange $100 at a time at the front desk to always have pesos.

Only once did we have to hit the atms. and we usually come back with $$
we find that we spend the most $$ at the airports (flying in and out) and the very first night as it is tradition that we go out to eat at Sr Frogs.
BUT, after so many trips with the exception of one or two bar trips with the resort we dont do any excursions (been there, done that, got too many tshirts )
    this just works for us.
(this also includes $$ to pay for transfers.)
