There is an exchange window right across the street next to the pharmacy.

Meh - everyone takes US cash at about the same exchange. Once you get into bigger amounts of money - you will be best off just using your card.

some purchases are better with pesos... just go to the front registration desk and they will give you the proper exchange rate. no big deal

There is a little shop outside at the end of the parking lot out front. They have an ATM that will probably give you the best exchange rate. It is aactually in a small room just around the corner from the store entrance. It dispenses Peso's drawing from your account at home.

When you make purchases outside the resort you will definitely do better paying in Peso's than Dollars. Stores and restaurants will hedge the exchange rate to be on the safe side. Some more than others.

The exchange rate at the front desk isn't great for American's and for Canadian's it's awful.
