I was just informed that I will be having surgery on my knee this week, and likely be on crutches for my trip (Feb 19-26).

What do I do? What things do I need to worry about? I'm traveling solo and freaking out about how this is going to f up my trip.

Just make sure you request a ground floor room on arrival and wear shoes / use crutches that are good on slippery surfaces and you should still have a blast. The concrete/tile can be slippery when wet so keep that in mind.

Or just find a willing man to cart you around in a wheelchair / carry you every where!

You may also alert your airline to get the front row seat for more leg room

Great way to recover! Relax the service is good.

Sweet. I'm just hoping that I can swim in the pool and get away with a small knee brace instead of the beastly thing I've had to wear!! I'm bummed about not getting to run around much though. I don't like to sit still!!

We discovered last year that the hotel has two wheelchairs on hand. If both are servicable, they will lend you one to use while you are there. We had to ask them to bring one over from their sister hotel and had to pay for the "cab ride" to deliver it both ways. Cost $15 each way.

That way you have the option of using it and having guys wheel you around or use the cruches to go out on the town.

I can't change the dates (I'm a teacher and it's February Break) - I'm looking to postpone the surgery - but I'm in so much pain, that it may be nicer to be there on crutches!

Roxie email the resort and ask for a room in the number range of 2108 to 2115, these rooms are behind the Paty-O Bar and steps to the buffet and also over look the sexy pool and are ground floor, we stay in these all the time.

That really sucks about your knee. The walkways at TR get super slippery so be really careful. I'm not sure if you've been there before, but there are a couple steps even on the first floor. Be sure to email the manager and fully explain that you will be alone and the crutches!
As far as the pool goes, ask your dr. if this is a good idea. A friend had knee surgery, was a month or so out, went to a resort(not TR), used the pool daily. On the way home, he got violently ill. Had contracted a very serious infection from the pool. A year later and a couple more surgeries, he is getting better. So be really careful!!
