From prior posts and asking I'm getting the impression it's a waste of time to leave the resort because we will miss so much but has anybody gone to Cozumel for a snorkelling trip. Heard the reefs are great
We are 4 guys so we can't go on Boobs Cruise snorkelling etc. any ideas. Are there boat excursions closer that offer really good snorkelling?

Snorkeling in the Sexy Pool is awesome! I'll have to admit though, I've never used an actual snorkel.

Cozumel is a whole day away....why miss all the fun. Check out the free scuba introduction with Boris at the resort and if you like it......you can go scuba on the reef by Isla Majeras up to 30 Ft. Beats snorkling in my humble opinion and you're a couple of hours away from the fun - not a whole day, for probably about the same price.

    Just my 2 cents worth....

Yep, the big reef that extends from just south of the Hotel Zone to just north of Cozumel is excellent.

My suggestion(not to waste a full day going all the way to Coz) would be to get a taxi to Puerto Morelos(30 min south of TTR) there are quite a few dive/snorkeling operators there that would take your small group out onto the reef for a reasonable fee.

Be careful! It might not be an actual snorkel you grab under water. Then again, I don't think anybody will complain! :icon_razz:

I would agree that a trip to cozumel would take from early morning to late evening.
It's at least a two hour one way trip from the Cancun hotel zone to Cozumel. You would normally take a taxi or colectivo bus to the ADO terminal. Then the ADO bus to playa, then the ferry to Coz. The ferry is at least a 30 minute ride by itself. And that's after you wait for the boat to arrive and load everybody on. The drive from the Cancun hotel zone to playa has to be at least 45 minutes if you just took a taxi.

The diving is amazing on Cozume.l The snorkeling is just snorkeling.

The suggestions above regarding taking a boat out to the reef in Cancun would be just as good for snorkeling and take a lot less time.

Another idea for a good day trip would be to arrange a private van through Steve and go south to Akumal to snorkel with the sea turtles keep going on to Tulum and check out the ruins and specifically the beach at the ruins. Pack a cooler.

I will tell you though, having seen pretty much everything in the area over the years not much beats the scenery at the sexy pool. Well maybe the Boobs Cruise.

I think you're going about this whole thing all wrong. You should be finding four ladies to take on the Boobs Cruise with you and not looking for snorkeling trips. Of course that's just me and I have no Desire to travel with three other dudes. :)
