It's official!! I'm finally going back to my favorite place on earth! After going through a messy divorce and meeting a great girl and getting my life back on track - it's time to enjoy a fun spring break. I just booked the Omni from March 4 - 9th and I'm too excited to do any work. Could anyone answer the following quick questions? I promise a trip report when we get back as payment. 1. What is the cost of a day pass to Temptations? If you had to pick one day/night to check out the resort which day would it be? 2. The 1/2 off card was a great deal a few years ago - has anyone used it recently and found it is worth the money? 3. I hear March is pretty dead with mostly an older crowd. Is there anything cool to do? 4. Please stop typing a response to that last one - I'm kidding. I'm looking forward to going to a couple packed bars and staying up way too late. 5. Looking back at my list of questions - they are actually pretty weak but like I said . . I'm too excited to not start a post. I've been a stalker of CancunCare for about 8 years so I always love to have something to actually write about. Maybe I'll end up spending a day at Temptations and I'll be hooked like most everyone else that goes there. Stay warm!
1) 90 bucks... and I'm not sure which night.... but you can ask someone from the TTR boards 2) I've never heard of the 1/2 off card Enjoy!! I'm usually good with questions, sorry I'm so useless with your thread! lol. I'm here if you have further questions though.
1. Yeah it's about $90 but only lasts until 6pm, then you have to buy a night pass which is ridiculously expensive (something like $125 that lasts from 6pm until 10am (or so) but with no room). It's better to book one regular night, arrive early on day 1 and leave late on day 2. Best day to go is probably a Saturday. If you're staying overnight go on a Friday and leave late Saturday. 2. The card you mention is the Cancun discount card or 2 for 1 card. It's still going and even though there are less participating places than there were a few years ago it's still good value, providing you make sure you use it once or twice to make the savings. There's more info on the card here: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/cancun-info/364-cancun-discount-card.html
Thanks Steve and Hammie! I'll definetely book my airport transfer from them since they really do have the best private drivers and I've never had a problem with them at all. I'm still on the fence in terms of the card since the number of places is less that I actually would go to. WOW - I guess I will have to wait to try our Temptations for another trip. I'm sure I will be back. Thanks again for the info!
Just a side suggestions on the airport transfer: I would actually recommend booking through here: only 9 bucks or 17 RT!! Cancun Airport Transfer | Shared Cancun Transfer Just $9 Funny..... i just saw the meal plan thingy you were talking about on top of the screen for entertainmentplus transfers! lol
I'll ask my girlfriend which one she prefers. We are on a somewhat tight budget so the extra $20 for a private van may have to be saved for next trip. Thanks for the info.
The 2x1 meal card is a good deal if you plan on hitting at least one of the places on the card. I may hit three of them so it is a no brainer. HAve you ever been to the Mexican place downtown that is on the list?
Yep - got it. The shared van is $34 round-trip for 2 people and a private car is $55 roundtrip for 2 people. We will have to decide if the extra hour or so it will take to use the shared van is worth the extra $19 roundtrip. I'm an engineer by trade so it always comes down to benefit vs cost. It get irritating after a while
Carillos is a great deal with that card and its easy to get to also. 2 for 1 lobster ya cant beat that!
