I don't think you can take a taxi from the airport you'd have to leave the grounds. But you can book a transfer its 55$ round trip and you pay them when you arrive. Somewhere around here there's a link to USA Transfers

USA Transfers is $55 Round Trip for a private car/van.

You pay the driver when you arrive at your hotel and the pick up is pre-arranged 2.5hrs before your flight.

A cab to the airport is about $20 -$25. You can grab a shuttle from the airport to the Hotel for $12 a person. USA Transfers does shuttles as well.

Here's the full scoop on taxis to and from the airport:

To the airport is easy, you can take a regular taxi from the hotel and it will cost about $25 from Temptation.

From the airport is more complicated. Regular taxis are not allowed to pick passengers up. There are some (red) cars with "Taxi" marked on the side but they are not the (green) taxis you'll find all over Cancun, just the only company that are allowed to pick up people who don't have a pre-arranged booking. Because of this they can charge what they like and they do. $65 is the usual rate to Temptation.

As others suggest - USA Transfers is a popular choice, their price is $55 round trip, private, modern, air conditioned vans or car if 3 people. The company is run by a Canadian guy who has lived in Cancun for around 11 years and has a very high standard of customer service. You dont even need to pre-pay, you pay on pick up. English speaking staff, office open 18 hrs a day. Whenever the words USA Transfers are typed on the forum it turns into a link which takes you direct to the booking page you need.

I should add that I do get paid a commission ($5) for any transfers booked through my link. I only recommend companies that are trustworthy and will offer you the very best service. If you think the site has been useful, that is one way of giving a little back and I'm sure you'll be happy with the service.

I also removed a link to what appears to be the official Cancun Airport site from an earlier post. That site is not owned by the airport at all, just someone who grabbed the domain name. It's actually a guy who lives in Florida who pretends his site is the official airport site in order to imply his transfer service is officially recommended. He also happens to pretend to be the official Chichen Itza site too with a different web site in order to sell his tours. I don't like to give "air time" to people who do business by deception.

Yep, a shuttle where you share with others is $12 per person through Best Day (<<< another link). If you're on a budget and don't mind waiting for the shuttle to fill and then drop people off at different places it can save you money over a private transfer, but wont get you there as fast as private.

USA Transfers don't offer shuttles, only private.

Thanks everyone for the info. This will be our 5th or 6th time to Temptations and we were just looking for a way to get there as fast as we can. Last year we waited close to an hour before everyone was ready to go and then it seems that Temptations is the last stop. We just want to get the party started quickly.

We have been to Cancun 6 time and have used USA Transfers the last three times. It is painless, cheap, fast, convenient,ETC. The last time our flight was delayed two hours we never called anybody to inform them we would be late and when we got to the usa transfer rep we gave him our name and we were on our way in less then 10 minutes.AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping we will be ok with this approach. If our flight is delayed by a few hours, it'll be middle of the night in Cancun before we set off, and I'm sure they don't want to be called at that time!
