COST for 2 weeks at TEMPTATIONS + Airfare (What I paid) (How much I paid)

I've been doing my research for some time now to try to get the best deal for our July27-Aug10 trip to TTR. As I've been waiting, the airfare cost has been going up and up and up so I knew I had to book NOW!!

This is what I did. I got airfare and hotel separatly.

Airfare:

From Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Cancun $500/ person with Delta (no extra charge for 1st checked baggage) so total was $1000 for round trip airfare. I wish I would have booked when it was around $430 a person.

kenwoodtravel.com (UK based Company)
Regular room = 1133 pounds (had to pay 200 pounds in deposit and rest I will send through bank transfer due to being in US and them in UK)
Through conversion, I will just say the room was around $1800 (it is actually a little less)


SOOOO:

Round trip Airfare = $1000 (total w/ all fees and taxes)
Hotel 14 nights = $1800 (total w/ all fees)

Total cost for TTR for 14 nights with airfare for two people was $2800 total!!

We did not get transfers from airport as we will decide how we want to go when we land.

Now that we are booked I will start dreaming...... hmmmmm

 

I'd say you got a great price for 14 days. We're going for 7 night and paid over $2k for the flight and room (I want to say like $2300?). We paid roughly $400/person out of ATL.

We booked the jacuzzi room under a friend's "membership" which essentially made the room $110/person per night.

This being our "maiden voyage" I wanted to make sure we did it right. If we become repeaters (which suspect is a very real possibility) we'll probably feel much more comfortable looking for deals more and "peace of mind" less.

So in short - I'd say you got a hell of a great deal, and next time we come, I'll be trying to follow your example :aktion033:

Consider Cancunvalet for you airport transfer.
They take directly to the resort.

The $128 per night for room is very strong.

Did you at least check alpharooms?

Not to shill for Steve, but he works hard at all this, and I hope everyone is trying to help him get referral income.

 

With alpharooms I checked a couple weeks ago and going for 21 days for 2 people and then booking flight separately out of Boston was going to be 3040.00 total. You still got a great deal but Alpharooms had the rooms for 113.00 for 2 people just a couple weeks ago not sure about now. Then again it all depends on what time of year you are going. The price I mentioned above is the the end of April and beginning of May. Already booked for me single going then for the 21 days and it cost me 2100.00 total with flight and was looking for a friend of mine and his wife what it would cost them that is why I knew the price . But hey Temptations is worth whatever price you paid

 

We did alpharooms and did 12 days June 7-19 for 2 people, $1400 total both of us. Airfare for both, travelocity.com Jet Blue direct flights out of Orlando, $756 first bag free for each person. So just under $2200 for 2 people 12 days is a hell of a deal, when we've done 10 days last 2 times for around $2700. Thanks Steve for alpharooms!

 

I have been checking alpharooms.com a lot also since I did see that their site has great prices but then I found kenwoodtavel.com and there was a $100 difference between the two so I went through kenwood.

 

We got on Travelosity and were able to get 11 nights including direct flight airfare from San Francisco to Cancun for 3050.00. We saw it on other sites as high as 3900.00 without direct air.

 

Travelocity for us for the same nights is $2900. We can book seperate for around $2700 (alpharooms).

 

A huge factor for us was the direct flight that was the sweetest part of this booking. I hate swapping planes it turns the flight time from 9.5 hrs to 5.5...:aktion033:
