    Hey all,
We just booked July and have been reading tons of info on this site.

We actually have some non-boobs related questions.
Does anyone know what it costs to rent snorkeling gear at the resort? We are bringing our own masks, but can't decide whether to lug flippers or just rent them there. On our trip to Aruba last year was pretty pricey to rent them.

    Thanks!

Not positive, but pretty sure there are no equipment rentals at the resort. A PM to Steve or the resort and they may be able to give you contact information for a good local dive shop.

But...........you're really going to love TTR.

Ah! Maybe I read too much into the statement on the resorts site.
The official Temptation website mentions something like "snorkeling equipment not being included in the package, but available for a minimum fee". Probably means available from some other company for a minimum fee.

    Thanks for the response!

There's nothing to look at at the resort anyways. There is a guy there who sells scuba trips and will also sell snorkeling trips. We took the scuba trip and it was amazing so I def recommend him

Serious, non boobs-related suggestion: take a day trip from the resort and go to Akumal. It's probably an hour drive, but you can snorkel with sea turtles right off the beach, and they rent all the equipment right there ($5 for a mask, $5 for the snorkel, $5 for the fins.)

You can hire a driver for the day for a pretty reasonable rate (better if you can talk another couple into coming with you and sharing the car), have lunch on the beach (it's gorgeous), and the turtles are close enough to touch.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. Might integrate this into a trip to the ruins since it seems to be pretty close to there.

It's easy to do both in one day. We hired a driver for the day who took us to the ruins and found us a really great guide. Then, he took us right to a cute restaurant on the Akumal beach that was right by an equipment rental shack and waited and brought us home when we were ready.

Also, there are lockers and changing areas on the beach.
