We have really considered going to CoCo Bongos on more than one occasion!! However, after 10 PM we are really more interested with the "S" stuff, No, not that "S'" word, but the SLEEP one !!! Is it a LAs Vegas style place with a show or just a dance club?? If its any wilder than Patty Os, its got to be illegal.
We almost went last month.... it is on our list to do next summer. They don't even leave the resort until around 10. I heard it is a must-do atleast once! I doubt that many places compare to Paty Os
i recommend people try it atleast once just to know what its all about and experience it for themselves.. CoCo Bongos is HUGE.. and extremely CROWDED... its really just a bunch of people jumpin around and there are alot of shows... shows consist of dancers imitating and lip syncing iconic musicians and artists.. and a few people flying from ropes... its a really entertaining show, but Paty'Os and CoCo Bongo are two COMPLETELY different things... CoCo Bongo is more of a tourist spot with a large younger crowd.. Paty'O's is much smaller but much wilder lol
we gave a try just to see what it was all about...After all... i am a firm believer of " you should try everything, atleast once" lol
I'd say don't go with the group from Temptations but it is a must go to destination for an awesome evening. Check out the guys behind the sports bar in the glass and find out what nights are 1/2 price girls night. Each night it is jam packed so might as well save a few bucks. Take a bus and get there a bit early and you get to bypass the line completely. Get in when it's mostly empty and find yourself a decent spot before it starts getting too crowded. I suggest low bleachers near the center platform for those girls wanting to get on up

Coco Bongo is definitely a must-see. Some people only go once, others of us want to go every time we are in Cancun. Your Coco Bongo experience really depends upon what kind of person you are, and what you make of it. If you hate crowds or loud music, forget about it (but why you are in Cancun in the first place? ). If you go with the resort on the resort's Coco Bongo nights on Mondays and Thursdays (Monday is the popular one, as Thursday is Lingerie Night at the resort and you have to leave for CB by 10:45 pm), make sure you buy your tickets around the Sexy Pool that afternoon, as you will pay 10 bucks more if you wait until the evening to buy them when the group meets in the lobby. You get a bus ride to CB and bypass the line, but you have to cab it back (about $12). The resort group gets jammed into a little raised platform area at the back of Coco Bongo, which is super-crowded and you can't even wiggle your booty an inch in either direction. Grab a couple of friends, tip the floor guy $20 bucks right away to have him take your little group down onto the floor on the right side of the raised bullpen bar (NOT behind the bar, or in front of it) Much better view there, and SOMETIMES less crowded than the TTR reserved area. If your lady is not shy, she can get up onto the 5-foot-high bullpen bar and dance the night away up there. Best view of the show, less hot, bartenders pass you shots all night long, and your sexy bits are out of reach of the creepers that roam around the floor. Men have to stay on the floor, but can be right beside their lady who is up on the bar. Tip the server for your area another $20 to ensure you get good service all night. Some people buy VIP passes, which I believe cost $100. I have never done this, but the people that do and have posted about it have been happy, as you get a nice viewing area and better service. P.S. If you are up on the bullpen bar, you may get invited to dance in the little balcony above the stage. Make sure you have gonchies on if you are wearing a skirt, ladies lol Remember that Coco Bongo is NOT a club where you dance with your partner. You stand and watch the show, and groove a bit where you stand. There is no dancefloor area. So you'll have to wait to bust out your rooster move til you get back to Paty-O's :mnm:
