Hi, We've never been to Cancun and we are getting in on March 25th before noon. I see that it is Mardi Gras night and then off to Coco Bongo. Does anyone have any tricks/tips on cover/drinks there? Is there a good place to buy a package so we can free pour liquor down our throats without having to cough up tonnes of $? Any tips/suggestions would be very much appreciated! -A.J and Amber
In the afternoon on Mondays around the sexy pool there is a dude that sells the resort package to Coco Bongo (this is true for other clubs on other days). I believe it is $55 if bought in the afternoon and $65 at night (but it might be $50 and $60). This gets you on a bus with TTR folks to CB, door charge and almost zero line up time, all you can drink, and a reserved area for the resort at CB. You get your own cab home (about $12). This package will NOT get you a great viewing spot at CB, and you will be jammed in a very crowded area. You can buy VIP packages for $100 (Steve has a friend here that sells them), which will get you a better location, a table to put your drink on, and presumably more attentive service. A lot of people have posted that they have been happy with the VIP package. When I have gone to CB, we've bought the $55 package, and then slip the floor guy a $20 to take us down to the floor to a better viewing spot. Another $20 to the waiter at the beginning of the night ensures good service.
