Can anyone tell me a little about Coco Bongo? Are the VIP tickets worth the extra money? What do I get for the difference? Is there a place to get the VIP tickets cheaper than the WEB site?
They sell them at TTR for $65 per person, they are the same amount everywhere else also, including the street vendors. VIP is pretty much the whole place, but we prefer to be VIP down stairs on the main floor with the women dancing up on the bar
I think it was a Monday or Tuesday when we went and the place was packed solid, they put on a really good show too [ame=]!!!!!CoCo Bongo Cancun Night Club!!!! - YouTube
Which site are you seeing the VIP tickets for sale? The official Coco Bongo site is probably one of only two places you can guarantee VIP if you buy the Gold ticket http://webpay.cocobongo.com.mx/products/category/1. Also check out After Dark at http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/cancun-spring-break/25627-best-vip-party-packages-cancun.html which is run by a friend of mine. To be honest about 70% of the tickets that are sold in Cancun are sold as VIP - they always say it's VIP but in many cases you just line up at a different door and they stagger arrival times to ensure you get in reasonably quick. Sometimes the regular queue is quicker than the VIP queue. Once inside you may not get a good area to stand/sit and probably not get premium drinks.
It's packed almost every night. Best to avoid Sunday's though, a lot of the performers have their day off on a Sunday and it is a reduced show. Fridays and Saturdays are often busy with locals, many of whom will have got in at reduced price or free because they know someone who works there. This often means that the best tables are difficult to get since they are reserved already. Also it's more expensive on a Fri/Sat.
So if a couple bought a regular ticket and another couple bought a "VIP ticket" would they not be able to be in the same area once inside? If it was a VIP ticket off the street?
We got home today after a 14 day stay at Temptations. We went to Coco Bongo on a VIP trip from the resort with 24 other people on a one way only transport arrangement. No queue to get in?.... Yes we did for about 15 mins and then had to squeeze through hundreds of people to get to the main hall... Our own space with a table?... We were all squeezed in like sardines with a postage stamp of room each. 6 of us managed to claim a 1' 6" diameter table and position it in the centre of us. You will have your own waiter for the night to bring your drinks?... After 20 mins of not getting a waiter to take our order I grabbed hold of one and had a stand up row with him and told him I wanted to see the manager. 5 mins later a different waiter came up and told us that the manager had told him to serve us all night. How the place gets a fire licence is totally beyond me and after the 1st 20mins or so most of the group were ready to leave and try somewhere else. Really glad we didn't. We got plenty to drink and even though we stood all night on the steps on the side of the hall the show was brilliant and we were all glad that we experienced it. Don't plan to go in a large group. We had talked all day about having a full night out together but once we got in the 6 of us never got anywhere near any of the others in the group.
We went last year on a weeknight with four of us. Once we got in, we realized how packed it was going to get so we got a table with bottle service. It was $100 US for the table and we got a bottle of Jager and four cans of redbull. We had a blast and the show was amazing! We definitely plan on hitting again next month when we are there!
When we were at TTR in May 2011, we bought a VIP from the staff on the night the resort was going. It was more expensive than the regular one, which you go with the resort. As soon as we got there, the staff took the group one way and handed us off to someone else there, he grabbed my hand and lead us through the crowd, up stairs to an area close to the stage. We had seats up against the railing and a small dance area that overlooked the dance floor. We had our own waiter, he would bring the bottle and mix our drinks there. When I had to go to the bathroom, he would take my hand and lead me to a bathroom that was close behind us. It was the highlight of our trip and we decided to put aside funds to do this again. Can't remember how much exactly but I know it was over $200 for both of us. We had a great view of the show, plenty of room and great service. Hope they still off that option at the resort. Michelle
