i was reading someones post from way back i cant find it again but the person said if u do not have the proper attire for the event u will not be allowed to join in. now i can understand that to a point but its hard to pack for these events when we have never been to the resort so if possible could some one go over all the events and what types of clothing we will need. And if we are missing something is it possible to buy it in the area. as well we will be at the resort for more than 2 weeks so are the activities the same each week or do they mix it up throughout the month?

That event sounds like the lingerie night that is usually on Thursday night each week. They don't allow anyone in who is not in their lingerie or pj's and that includes the guys. They do that for privacy reasons for those in lingerie.

...and you have to be dressed appropriately to go to the nice restaurants. No flip flops or shorts for the guys is all really...

Don't stress over a dress code; the only really important ones, as noted above, are long pants and closed toed shoes (for men) at the Italian & Asian restaurants. AND lingerie for Thursday night. Not meeting that minimal dress code will keep you out of the event.
Also, definitely read up on what special events might be going on as organized by other Cancuncare members going on during the dates you'll be there; such as little black dress night, schoolgirl night, etc. While not mandatory, and not something that would keep you out of the bar or wherever, those events are fun and certainly part of the reason to go to this resort in the first place.

As it gets closer to February, read (and contribute to) the "Feb Roll Call". People post ideas for fun things to do at night; you'll start seeing things in January. Again, other than lingerie night (generally Thursdays), there really isn't anything else planned by the resort requiring specific clothing. The rest of the evenings you can wear whatever.
