By popular demand here are the rules to the Circle of Death card game that we played.

First, a quick guide to the cards and then longer explanations of each of the mini-games:

Spread the cards out in a circle around an empty cup.

Black 2,3,5 - Take that many drinks
Red 2,3,5 - Assign that many drinks to others
4 Whores - All whores (women) drink
6 Dicks - All those with dicks drink
    7 - Buzz Game
    8 - Make a Date
    9 - Bust a Rhyme
    10 - Never Have I Ever *
    Jack - Make a rule
    Queen - Question Master
    King - Category
    Ace - Ookie Cup

Buzz Game - The person who drew the 7 starts by saying 1 and picking the person to the right or left to go next. The next person says 2, the next says 3, the next says 4 and so on counting up. When a number with a 7 in it or multiple of 7 comes up the person has to say BUZZ and the direction of counting reverses.
Example: 1,2,3,4,5,6, BUZZ (reverse direction), 8,9,10,11,12,13, BUZZ (reverse direction) and so on...
Whoever messes up has to drink.

Make a Date - If you draw an 8 you have to pick someone to be your date. Every time you drink your date has to drink, every time your date drinks you have to drink.

Bust a Rhyme - The person who draws the 9 has to say a word and everyone going around the circle has to rhyme with that word. If you can't think of a rhyme or you repeat a word you have to drink. Also the word chosen has to have at least 3 other words rhyme with it so you can't choose "purple" or "orange".

Never Have I Ever - Say something you have never done and those in the circle who have done it have to drink.

Make a Rule - Make a rule that will stand for the rest of game such as every time you draw a card you have to lick someone's chest or every time you say the word "drink" you have to drink (great rules Traco!)

Question Master - The person who pulls a queen is the question master until the next queen is drawn. If that person asks you a question and you answer it you must drink.

Category - The person who pulls the king must come up with a category (types of liquor, types of beer, sexual positions) and then everyone in the circle must name things in that category. If you mess up or repeat a word, you must drink.

Ookie Cup - In the middle of the circle of cards is an empty cup. Whoever draws the first 3 aces must put a little bit of their drink in the cup (the combination of drinks is what can make it ookie!) The person who draws the 4th Ace must drink the ookie cup and the game ends.

*Note: 10 can also be played as Waterfall. Waterfall only works well in smaller circles. In waterfall when someone draws the 10 everyone begins to drink. The person to draw the 10 stops drinking first. Then the next person is allowed to stop and then the next person is allowed to stop. You can only stop drinking when the person next to you has stopped drinking. The last person gets really screwed in that game because they can't stop drinking until everyone has stopped drinking.

And that is Circle of Death!!! :)

I am thinking it's like russian roulette with sambuca. Need a mild low alcohol drink for this game. You had me until the ookie. I think it's a whole lot of other people's backwash in the cup. Yuck.

There were definitely a few people who weren't excited about the ookie cup. I like the ookie cup because then there is some risk involved in playing the game. The combinations of drinks didn't get worse than beer and chunky monkey, but at home I have drank white russians and beer which is gross because the milk in the white russian curdles.

You can do alternative Ace rules instead of the ookie cup. You could set up four shots and each person that draws an Ace takes a shot (maybe three good ones and one bad one so that the fourth person to draw an Ace gets screwed?) That was Chango's idea. Or we've played with an unopened full can of beer in the middle. Each card you pull you slip under the beer tab and the person whose card pops the tab has to chug the beer. So there are less "ookie" ways to play.

You can play with any rules you want really. One of our friends got tired of the buzz game because he kept losing so he created Scavenger Hunt. The person who pulls the 7 has to yell out an object, then the person on the right and the person on the left of the card-puller has to race to find that object and bring it back. So the person who pulls a 7 could yell "tampon" and then the two people to either side have to be the first to find a tampon. The loser has to drink. Some of my favorite objects have included a construction cone and a hubcap (yes I pulled a hubcap off of my own car to win that one). So you can really make up whatever rules you want and tailor the game to the people you are playing with. :)
