Does anyone know if they sell American brand cigarettes (Marlboro) in Cancun and how much they are? My husband and I both smoke and need to know if it's better to bring them with us and if they have them there if we do run out. Thanks.
Yes you can buy Marlboro, both red and lite in Cancun. 7$USD per pack in the hotel gift shop or 3$USD downtown.
You can buy them by the carton in the airport as you are getting in line for the last security check before leaving the airport. $31.00 usd per carton then take with you to the hotel. As you leave to come home you are allowed 2 carton per person to bring back to the states.

It's actually only 1 carton per person. We brought 2 cartons each a couple years ago and customs in houston got us and we had to pay the difference on the extra 2.
This is not the case. You are allowed only ONE carton per person coming back into the states. I found this out by having customs check my bag and forcing me to pay 10.00 per carton in duties. It still worked out to be a great deal, but the extra 30 minutes in customs was aggravating.
Just my opinion, but I don't think the cigarettes I have bought in cancun taste the same as the ones from the states. They seem a bit stronger.
When we run out, we just buy them across the street from the hotel. I don't recall the price last time we were there in August, but it wasn't nearly as bad as Maryland prices so we were cool with it. That said, I was fine since I smoke Lights. My girlfriend smokes Light 100's and they didn't have any. It's usually just Lights, Reds, and menthols (same Marlboro selection you'd see in a duty free store) . It's a very limited selection.
As already said, you can buy 2 cartons per person in luggage reclaim area in CUN airport. the Malboros are sold $32 at walmart, but I've been told they are the same price from the store across the street from TTR. At the airport in the departure / duty free shopping, you can buy 3 cartons (I know, I am naughty) you can buy a pack of 3 cartons for $70
If I being my own smokes.....will I have any problems getting into Mexico with a carton or cigars? What about the whip cream?
